To answer a couple of points:
1- Why can't you just celebrate in the stands
That's what I do EVERY other time in the season when celebrating, hence it being a bit more special to celebrate differently.
2- You will delay the lap of honour
Honestly, boo f**king hoo. Do you really think after the players have just been promoted (IF!) they will be bothered if they get home 10 mintues later than planned. Probably not. And as for the fans in the stand waiting for it, just enjoy celebrating in SMS for another 10 minutes seeing as you will not be there in the summer. OR just join us on the pitch and don't be boring.
For me, watching any pitch invasion on the TV always looks like the fans are loving it and it is a much more ecstatic way to celebrate than watching a stadium politely applaud and cheer a promotion/survival. I will always join in a pitch invasion at SMS (when CELEBRATING anyway.....I thought the angry "we've just been relegated" one was cringeworthy). Make the most of it while you're allowed to, which you will be after 30 or so fans are already on. Saves spending 300 odd quid to play on the surface anyway!!
