True although some nations do appear to have harder work ethics than others. Often commented on the difference between Pakistanis and Indians in approach to work with the former being perceived as the lazier.

I didn't want them to get into CL so was nice to beat them. Many of their fans acknowledged that Palce crushed their dreams but still good to confirm. 1984 is just reason to hate them not going to feel like it is ever avenged.

Indeed. This obsession with Premier League is incredible. Nothing changed between 1991/2 and 1992/3 season. The rules of the game were the same, the number of games played were the same. Are we going to soon be striking off league championships before 1992/3?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/10789764/Southampton-2-Everton-0-match-report.html 6/10??? Same as deulofeu? Shocking assessment

Streaming has got much better this season. Many options to view overseas options and high quality. TBH is main reason I will consider for not renewing ST next season.

Wasn't that the first goal? My seat was empty then also as stuck in bookies queue.

Isn't there only one poster who refers to him as MOPO? Reminds me of Ben Elton using 'Thatch' but it was only him.

He is clearly beardist although that might mean he is against beards which he isn't. He might be anti-beardist.

I don't object to these hypotheticals normally but with no details too many permutations to consider. MP stays and we sell Hooiveld for £14m to Cardiff then would take that. MP stays and we sell Shaw for £7m, Lallana for £6 and loan Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Lovren and Chambers to Newcastle and Villa then I would possibly prefer MP went.

Yeah cos of course the board would appoint someone who wasn't interested in the academy.

Was thinking last weekend how Good Friday has changed even in last 20 years without being aware. Used to be no sport, shops or anything and would be a day of reflection. Now just a bank holiday and indicative of how commercial interest has more influence with govt. than Christian beliefs do. And as aside I feel no one is more annoying than a smug atheist preaching their anti-prejudice, oh so liberal humanitarian views. Give me the archbishop of Canterbury over Dawkins every time for kindness, compassion, tolerance and other values that should be the bedrock of our society.

Blimey this SSN obsession with this sort if thing is spreading. Nothing to do with the easy fixtures at start of the season though.

He can be a PR disaster though and image and negative tactics not what Utd wanted. In hindsight though...

If you knew any Everton fans you would know this is rubbish. The point is is he making them play with much more flair. James McCarthy has been key as well. Was lots of discontent with Moyes way before he left and Martinez has taken them on by having fresh approach. Saying someone couldn't sort out Wigan - f me Mourinho woudl have struggled to keep them in prem for as long as he did.

He cannot pass accurately - that will undoubtedly be a problem.

That is the problem when supermarkets close for a day.

The findings of FFP are coming out early May. The overpriced sponsorship deals are factored in and sounds like City are going to be in trouble.

Can you tell me where the £48 million was spent in January?

Why do you keep on with 'don't be fooled by the media' line? I am not fooled. You just sound like someone railing against the PL and longing for the past. My observation is that PL is more competitive and entertaining this season. You think that because I have this view Scudamore and Murdoch have brainwashed me. I know a Liverpool have spent huge sums in the past but the team Rodgers has built seems more reflective of coaching and tactical nous not an assemble of superstars. The fact that they are going to score 100+ goals also adds to the entertainment.
-
Sorry not really getting your point? Who are you expecting to win the league? If you strip back from all the hype it is healthy completion that maintains interest. It has that this season. Using figures since PL inception is not the point either. If ever there was a season where the title hasn't been 'bought' then this is it and no one realistically thought Liverpool, could compete for title this year so is not a smokescreen at all.

This season has been exciting. I hate the marketing around the PL but undeniably the healthiest where a team that was 7th last season with a core of English talent are going to out perform the oligarch and sheik playthings. Plus 11 teams in relegation battle for most of season does make the league healthy added to the fact the promoted sides have done well. No other top European league can experience that. I am not a PL fanboy but is undeniable this season
