  1. Twitter is for attention-seeking w*nkers. End of.
  2. I completely agree, but dogma seems to have taken the place of common sense. I sense if anything the pace of federalism is increasing due to he economic problems. Its hard to really gauge from the UK or Central Europe how much the Greeks really resent what they see as the bullying behaviour of the German government, for example.
  3. The problem with the EU is the same as the problems with the NHS, in principle; its responsibilities and activity has spread far beyond its original remit without enough institutional reform to enable the extra scope to be managed efficiently. Yes, I have benefitted from the EU - massively. In terms of health care, education, employment, safety and security. But I can see its problems, and the indigenous people of Austria are not over-enamoured with the EU either. In fact, the one area of agreement between the UK and Austrian governments is over EU expansion and immigration. I really think the Lisbon Treaty was a mistake, and possibly Maastricht too. the EU should have remained a free trade zone, and what is going on now is purely political ideaology.
  4. Just done a quick round of the office, definitely think the Annenhof is the closest. Junction of Heinrich von Türlin Strasse and Rennsteiner Strasse. Also a little bar/cafe on junction of Vassacher Strasse and August von Jaksch Strasse. Look them up on Google Maps.
  5. Its a good argument. But the nature of the EU is rotten to the core, is interfering in areas that dont concern it, and due to self-interest not many are psuhing to reform. Leaving the EU is going to be a major culture and economic shock, without a doubt. But it feels a bit like having chemo to cure cancer (apologies to anyone with loved ones suffering from cancer, I couldnt think of a better analogy...) The EU is current form is going to end in tears anyway...
  6. Very sharp..
  7. The fact that its been promised several times and never delivered ? The fact that the coallition is going on about it again, with no intention of delivering, just to head off the major threat to the cosy 3 party system that UKIP represent ?
  8. Superb. I love this arrogant patronising attitude. It labels people for the Socialist losers they really are. Some countries have the right to referenda enshrined in their constitutions. A petition of over a certaion number of signatures automatically tirggers a legally-biniding referendum. Not Britain, of course. We have a quite old version of democracy, and for the large part it works. But it aint perfect.
  9. You used the word "Untermenschen". It has specific connotations. It is also a pretty taboo word where I live.
  10. Tricky one to answer. I dont go to watch VSV (the home team for the Lind stadium), so not sure where the home crowd congregate. I think most yokels drink in the stadium. Also doesnt sound like many of us are going to be there. There is a pretty decent Gasthaus called Annenhof near the stadum on Heinrich-von-Türlin Strasse. Has a nice beer garden. I would suggest you go in the direction of the Hauptplatz and Lederergasse, that where most of the action is in Villach. The Brauhof up from the Haputplatz is a pretty good bar, quite traditional. Its still a quick yomp across to the stadium. If you have transport and are not dashing back, I suggest you go to the Ackern afterwards. Outside place in a field of massive sunflowers with tents and hay bales and usually a large open-air fire with live music. Only problem is its on the outskirts.
  11. Really hope this works out for him. All the best, Chappers.
  12. Space Above and Beyond, for example.
  13. Another one gone. Lets pray Anderson is smokin' today...
  14. Indeed, lets just hope MP can mould them into a functioning team and we dont get Chelsea- / Mancity-type histrionics.. The work is just beginning.
  15. Oh, did they start today ? Usually Thursdays, isnt it ? FWIW, I thought the press were sounding far too arrogant this morning. Like this series would be a walkover. Australia may not be the best side to hail from their land, but they are NEVER walkovers.
  16. Looking good. Beginning to think we might actually be well-prepared for a season. For once.
  17. So you are comparing monsters like Rose West with Jews persecuted and exterminated during the Holocaust. Pathetic.
  18. I bet that car dealer up Shirley that got trashed at the height of the Beastie Boys popularity is boarding up the shop front as we speak.... Or maybe "Wanyama" begins with another letter when translated into Polish.
  19. There are all sorts of behavioural traits present on this site. Smug, superior, patronising arrogant tw*ttery being another....
  20. Your response to my post is a bit odd. Are you trying to explain why he keeps being released, or actually arguing against his periodic release ? And this thread is replete with arguments that his alcohol problem is caused by underlying mental health issues. Also, I would argue that the photos in the sun this morning, for example, are all the evidence that is needed that he is "very unwell" Sorry if you find my position somewhat cold, please accept that perhaps there is a reason for this.
  21. I've just spent a few mins reading up on some of the crimes committed by the list of 49 lifers covered by this ruling. I really wonder why precious taxpayer resources are being used in keeping this filth alive.
  22. AKA Everybody Else's Fault. Such a misunderstood genius
  23. Losing track of your own drivel, are you ?
