Wes, I usually read your posts with interest, but I am a bit disappointed with the tone of this one. Especially the trap you've fallen into of using the term "wrist-slitter". If last night was the "training match with bells on" that you make it out to be, why did Adkins himself sound so f**ked off by all accounts in the post-match interview ? Also, do you not think last night with cause a confidence issue to be carried forward ?

How about you address the issue ?

Absolutely. And the signs arent good at all. The happy-clappies were going on about "here comes our little blip". Well, its up to about a third of the season now...

Sorting this mess out is his job. This is what its all about. This is what hes paid for. He's been indulged in the transfer market. He rises to the occasion, or he doesnt. Welcome to the real world.

I see we have all the "wrist slitter", "bedwetter", "WUM" and "doom & gloom merchant" comments on here as expected. I'd like to know WHY, on the basis of the last 2.5months / 15-odd games, it is NOT a valid question to simply ask "Has NA come as far as he can at his age and at this stage of his career and experience ?" He is working in rareified air now, this is the last push before the summit. He has done brilliantly for us over the last 18months, but maybe he simply doesnt have it in him to finish the job ? He had the best transfer window of the division, most of his injured players are returning to availability. But it seems the opposition know how to play us. Whose "fault" is that, ultimately ? I am concerned that he is not showing enough motivational and tactical dexterity, but I certainly am not calling for his head, yet.
  6. I find it bizarre that you look at this game in isolation.
  7. Do you really believe he has the motivational and tactical dexterity required for the challenge ahead of him now ? Btw, 7th would be an utter disaster when you look back at the end of November. I am not sure this group of players, playing together, would ever recover.
  8. Your sneering, p*ss-taking and dismissiveness doesnt hide the fact that we have either completely lost our mojo or been sussed out.
  9. Maybe he has reached his level of potential. It happens.
  10. Incapable of killing games off and winning Another confidence set-back Big 6-pointers ahead
  11. We're in big trouble.
  12. Was that ever in doubt ?
  13. WTF is the matter with us ? Everyone knows you hunker down and focus for the few minutes after scoring, because the other team come straight back at you !
  14. Looks like we might get 2 tw*ts gone for the price of one. Capello is on the brink.
  15. Its been chucking it down here for the past 36 hours
  16. Marginally Royalist. But wanting big, big root-and-branch changes to the whole institution when the Queen has passed away. And I will never be a loyal "subject" to Charles.
  17. Dont apologise, friend. ALWAYS_SFC is a gimp.
  18. Verbal is equally culpable, Ken.
  19. Dont be so touchy you tart. It was a sporting fair-minded post from someone who is nevertheless a fan of our promotion rivals. I wonder is someone has bothered with "Blues v Saints - A Saints Reaction" with such non-subjective content on their main fans site ?
  20. The FA should sieze the moment to end Terry's career, and hopefully get rid of Capello early at no financial penalty as he throws a hissy fit. Gives the squad and new manager time to come together, build up team spirit (without some ego and marketing inflationary sh*t about "will new manager send SOS out to Beckham ?"), and have our first genuine go at a tournament since Euro 96. Team spirit will make up the performance gap to the loss of a few divas. Hopefully Rooney and Lampard will get injured too,
  21. If NA picks him. Where would you play him ? Seems unfair to drop Puncheon currently.
  22. Indeed. Effect would be the same, keep the Eurofighter production line open. Would have also paid for another Type 45 destroyer, or another Astute, or conversion of the second carrier to CATOBAR like the first, or a wing of F-18Es to get the new carriers operational earlier...
  23. That man really knows how to let his mouth run away from him.... He's gone on record saying if Argentina and the UK come into military conflict over the Falklands again, Argentina wont be alone because Venezuela will get involved. I bet that done-up mutton-dressed-as-lamb tart in charge of Argentina is thanking him profusely this morning, seeing as he has just guaranteed US support for the UK if it kicks off again... *awaits the arrival of Verbal to explain to us what a visionary and just leader he is...*
  24. I think you'll find there was evidence from a phone call or answering machine message too, though who the f**k would keep that for 8 years without a plan to use it is beyond me
