  1. I really wish we could confirm that media news saturation is the only reason this sort of thing seems to be occuring more often. I intuitively do not feel as safe as I did 15-20 years ago, I must say. As for your comments about the police bringing it on themselves, I find them to be very unfair. They do a f**king awful job, with sh*tty political direction from above.
  2. In Southsea : "I'm kill this bloke, people like anothersaintinsouthsea will make sure I get a nice flat, loads of money, and plenty of understanding"
  3. Sorry, I cannot accept there is no way to protect the defenceless members of society.
  4. And you are a bleeding-heart liberal..
  5. OK, one appeal to be lodged within 7 days of sentence, to be concluded within 6 months. I can compromise. But the sitting on death row and turning the murderers into cult heroes should be scrapped.
  6. So, none of you actually have a f**king clue about what to do to prevent this. Better to do nothing, right ?
  7. Yep, criminals are victims...
  8. Get rid of all the waiting on death row for 20 years cr*p. If you are sentenced to death, do it the next day.
  9. You'd let 2 other babies suffer this fate before doing something about it ?
  10. And thats going to stop children being murdered is it ? This crime took place in Norway, abetted by a Brit. Neither country has the death penalty current. Therefore, I conclude from your answer that you havent got a proper answer. As usual, its easy to say what not to do and have not a clue about what to actually do...
  11. Yep, thanks for proving my point. If I can be accused of seeking revenge, your ilk can be accused of always trying to find the victim of circumstance in the perpetrator. I would really love to know how you would reduce the incidence of these murders.
  12. Baj, I am the father of 3. The youngest is going through the terrible twos. My wife is also expecting our 4th in May. For the 3 we have, the burden of coaxing the babies to sleep during collic attacks has always fallen on me. I've also done my fair share of mopping sick up and changing bedclothes 3 times during the night. I would lie if I said flashes of red mist have never descended briefly in my mind. BUT NEVER have I thought of something as premediated as running a bucket of water and holding my baby's head under the surface. To me that is a totally different level of violence against a baby. Pap, why do you think that the level of violence and abuse appears to be going up in society if people are no longer afraid of the law ? I remember when I was a kid 30 years ago I used to shiver with fear if a policeman approached, let alone spoke to me. Now, wearing a police uniform appears to make you target for abuse and violence.
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2083006/Yasmin-Chaudhry-drowns-baby-daughter-bucket-boyfriend-watches-Skype.html I dont care the stigma of what paper this is in, the fact is that people are doing all sorts of outrageous things nowadays because they know they can get away with it or get a mild punishement. Guaranteed this couple have someone fighting for them, putting it down to poor education, cultural values of being economically disavantaged and trodden on; that they are the victims. I dont give a f**k. Basic human instinct would tell you drowning a one year old toddler in a bucket of water is PLAIN WRONG. People need to be scared/respectful of the weight of the law and justice again, or this sort of sh*t is just going to keep happening.
  14. But thats my entire point. The UK should remember it is there to defend the UK and its Protectorates (eg Falklands). They are all islands. We need a top-notch RN and RAF for that. We only need small ground territory defensive forces, since if we ever go again into a UN/NATO mission we make it quite clear from the onset that out contribution will be air or naval support only. Then the smaller Army wont be overstretched. I reckon we should cut the Army in half, merge the Fleet Air Arm into the RAF, merge the Royal Marines into the Army, order both carriers fitted with CATOBAR, reinstate the extra 6 Type 45 destroyers, speed up the Type 26 frigate design, cancel the F35 and get double the number of Super Hornets, bring the number of Astutes up to 10, confirm the final batch of 72 Eurofighters, get a number of P3 Orions from the Yanks. Then we are back up to being a serious force. I would also cancel Trident - we need our independence back from the US, and nuke-up our TLAMs. For sub or plane launch. I am fed up of inter-service rivalry (I have to say though that the RAF is the worst - Jock Stirrup should never be forgiven for stitching the RN up over Ark Royal and the Harriers). We need the politicians to use their own brains to decide what they are there for - protecting the UK and its overseas territories, and wave the flag in international missions pretending to be a big player with RN and RAF support. Having a big Army is just a c*ck extension. Then again, we have that complete pr*ck Phillip Hammond, joke of a Defence Minister that he is, threatening Iran with military action over the Strait of Hormuz today. How we going to do that then ?? D*ckhead.
  15. SDSR should have done the same thing in the UK; remembered that the UK is an island, keep the RAF and RN strength, and cut back on the Army, especially as Ulster, Germany and Iraq are no longer drains on Army resources. But noooo. We butt-f**k the RAF and the RN and keep an excessive Army, even though we no longer have the resources to ship or fly it anywhere.
  16. Abbot is a nasty, hypocritical, self-opinionated bigot and racist. Have always hated her, since the first time I saw that pompous way she closes her eyes and lifts her nose when expressing her opinion. Still would like to know if the born-again Leftie Portaloo gave her one after that Andrew Neil show they appeared on together. Always seemed so cosy.
  17. Yes. The League team is about to face for a few games a pretty serious upheaval. Therefore NA should practice what he intends to implement in the League.
  18. Lets see how sharp our transfer activity is then, over the next month...
  19. This just sounds to me like she inherited it, doesnt know what to do with it or how to run it, so its been handed over to someone she trusts. Problem is, if its having problems, its going to be distracting our Chairman.
  20. SFC is a Mali asset, therefore, it could share the fate of the assets of the rest of the group. Mali seems to be marking time with no-one driving the group, and the businesses are in decline because of it. Therefore, those who inherited Mali may decide to cash in their chips. This does NOT sound good for the future of SFC - the club could be sold to god knows who. Or it might be kept as a Liebherr/NC plaything.
  21. Yes. He's a strange choice to bring in in January in order to address immediate team shortcomings. He may come straight in, do well and pull our promotion campaign back on track, but my gut feeling is that due to familiarisation time, they view him as one for next season, whichever league we are in. Sharp, Maynard and Jutkiewicz could have a more immediate impact. Which poses the question as to whether NC and NA are looking for another striker still, or see promotion this season as nice to have with our main thrust being next season. If the latter is the case, they are making a mistake.
  22. Apologies if this point has been made. Colinjb makes the point in his article about Lee coming that for the club to announce the talks in advance of it being absolutely uncertain is highly unusual, if not unheard of, for this regime. This sounds like to me that either the club are acutely aware of the panic in the fan base following the Brighton result, or perhaps even share it.
  23. Well, its hardly transfer news, is it ? Its a heads-up that some talking is going on. I'd be surprised and worried if it werent.
  24. It was Sibley who wrote to expect something soon, not me.
  25. And ??? Its been 3 hours.
