Very bored with hearing about this, seeing its being top at the END of the season that counts, a fact that seems to be over the head of a lot of contributors on here, and especially when considering our relegation form over the past 6 or 7 games.

Turkish, you cant count the Lambert incident because he apparently wasnt involved. For all you know he was on tonic water all night. But the Seaborne and Barnard incidents may indicate an off-pitch discipline problem.

The OP is spot on. We've had the easy leg of our away fixtures. The next two months look horrific. We've done very well to start 2012 top of the league, but if we dont strengthen NOW (not the end of January) we are going to plummet down the table and out the other side of the playoff places.

Thats exactly what we are always hearing. It seems to me that some think we shouldnt make any effort to sustain our record for this season, or arent bothered if we do or not, because this season already exceeds their expectations.

I expect this thread to be locked pretty soon, since it is nothing but thinly-veilled personal abuse. But to deal with the final sentence, why is the comparison with pre-season the only one that is valid ? Why are we not allowed to compare with November, for example ?

He might be a bit "persistent" with his outlook, but I dont view him to be a WUM. I dont understand why people are labelled this when they have strongly-held opinions which dont corellate with the majority outlook.

I am starting to see a worrying parallel between Burley's full season ending in play-off heartbreak and this season. This really could be our big chance that we are about to blow if NC and NA get the decisions wrong over the next couple of weeks.

That would be f**king mental. We are top after 24 games, even if the original plan was to do the build-up more gradually, it should be changed in the light of our over-achievement.

Absolutely dire. The team was not up for the game at all. Cant win promotion with games like this in the season record. Hope we dont all look back on this game as the one where promotion went away. Absolutely essential to bounce back on Monday with a win, and to back this up with some pretty prompt transfer activity.

Typical of Saints to take the gloss off it at the very end.

I want to see how we play the transfer window before drawing that conclusion. But we need some major reinforcement, not some garnishing....
