Gillet Schneiderlin and Holmes were how we started the season off. What we missed then was a more robust defence and someone for them to supply. With the new Dutch dude in the mix, and Saga back, maybe that midfield line-up could work again. Lalllana or BWP on the right, McG in the hole, Saga up front.

Hmmmm. Toughie..... He still has helluva lot to learn about Customer Relations.

Agree with all you wrote, but think every game is MASSIVE now.

Was just about the best BBC sports commentator post-war. This mans warmth on Ski Sunday and in Winter Olympics coverage went a long way to me falling in love with winter sports and moving over here. I didnt realise he retired so long ago. RIP.

Why is this sort of ridiculous knee-jerk response to one win more acceptable than the usual negative reaction on here to a sequence of defeats ?

He is talking total nonsense Of course I am I bet a chimpanzee listening to Stephen Hawking thinks he's talking nonsense too...

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years
alpine_saint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
spot on. -
You know already my opinion on that, seeing as you have quoted it at least twice this morning. Very bored now...........
-
Yep, agree completely. Though for consistency's sake and to stop hypochondriac getting a stiffy, I dispute we played crap against Barnsley. Maybe we were lucky or undeserving, but the result was right.
-
Nope, still dont see it. Reckon you have a problem...
-
I havent denied anything - I dispute your assertion over a contradiction. I regret you seem to have so many problems reading and/or with the English language. As for not getting into insults, he who cast the first stone.....you came looking for an argument. Where did I say we were crap against Barnsley ? I simply wrote that assuming that the reports of them being all over us were true, it was somewhat undeserving. Get a grip, FFS. You are the one making a fool of yourself.
-
Not at all. I am pleased with the win, but am expressing concerns about our ability to carry that forward. There is NO contradiction in those two posts whatsoever. Is it really so hard for the likes of you and NickG to understand ? I didnt realise some people were so dim...Are you that superifical and one-dimensional, or are you that childish to pick a fight when we are all happy to have won ?

In case we survive in the CCC - JP situation
alpine_saint replied to Belgiansaint's topic in The Saints
Yes. But: 1. I would want to see him get better support from the board, otherwise it is just delaying the inevitable 2. It would show Lowe up as a hypocritical waanker. -
I genuinely wonder sometimes how Askham manages to move about Southampton completely unfettered and unmolested. Is it because he is so John-Major Grey that no-one recognises the Bastard who Destroyed Southampton Football Club For Personal Gain ?

Dunc, maybe it is out of character (or I bring the worst out in her), but I have been on the receiving end of continual, though I admit infrequent, little digs from her. This is just the latest I've noticed. Why in f**ks name does every fan have to conform to a fandom code of conduct ??

Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
alpine_saint replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
Doncaster is but one team. We need to finish above three to avoid relegation Everz round of matches offers the opportunity to claw back ground on other teams, or put space between us and them, whoever we are playing. I understand the "6-pointer" theroy, but if the players think like that too, it is leaving the club open to more underachieving f**k-ups against the likes of Swansea and Sheff Utd where our rivals may get a win. JP, in my opinion, MUST get the "every game is a Cup Final" attitude across to the players, not the "tough 6-pointer coming up lads" attitude -
Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
alpine_saint replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
considering we are languishing in the bottom 3, arent they ALL important ? -
She didnt write " a true alpine saint", she wrote "the true alpine saint". Its was a dig and you f**king know it. Besides, she's in Italy so its more accurate for her to say Dolomite Saint

11.5 years on, and absolutely NOTHING has changed.... ...except the fact we are about to get relegated for the second time and the existence of the club is in doubt. Same old congenial meetings leading to losses of key staff. For Nigel Pearson read Graeme Souness... Same old Roopey bleating about being given a bum steer... Pathetic. The man has learnt NOTHING

LOL at the pathetic piissing contest "I'm a better fan than you" cokk swinging.........
-
Suppose thought never occurred to you that McG may have perked up a bit because he now knows hes not an automatic selection ??
-
Fine. For me, the whole family/community feel of our club and Saturday afternoons has been on the wane for years, probably since becoming a plc.
-
Yep. It was on the critical list for the first half of last season thanks to Burley, went into arrest under Dodd and Gorman, was briefly resusscitated under Pearson and Crouch, but the life support machine was switched off by Lowe and Wilde.
