Ooh good effort from Carrillo. Superb ball in from Lemina - he's on form today. Oh, then again from JWP - good save. That was going in.
-
Thought he was a goalkeeper.

No, I can't allow that to go unchallenged. Lemina is the standard of player we should have. What about Bertrand, Hojbjerg? These are also fantastic international standard players. Cedric's excellent on his day - nobody gets a regular spot for Portugal without being pretty good. We're in the Premier League - we deserve to have players of that standard and we should be looking to sign more. Especially if we want to challenge for Europe... as we seem to think we should.

That'll do nicely. Is this our current best starting 11? Boufal or Tadic is the big uncertainty for me.

For me Burnley was the real tail-dipper. Even 1 point from that may have given us a better mindset, but it set us off on a dreadful run and low self-belief. Anyway, that was then. Time to earn some points today. 2-0 win or better would be marvellous - hope to catch them on an 'off' day, with half an eye on CL. Draw would be ok, about acceptable.

I like any sports, unless it involves animals - just can't get excited about horses or dogs racing. Or fishing. The tactical & technical side of sports interest me, so even if a game is dull I like to see how tactics might change (or not) and how individual players try to influence the game. Not having been a professional sportsman (though I've coached & reffed/umpired many sports at youth level), I'm fascinated by the technical skills on display. It's interesting to get close to the action (even if it's just through tv cameras) to see just how top players play their game - what makes them better than us average joes. If you want some positives (and some other reasons why I enjoy them): Rugby is like a constant high-pressing football match - remember how exciting that was for Saints fans not so long ago? American football is a constant source of surprise - you never know where the ball is until you see the replays. Cricket is like speed-golf on the move. I do like the slow burning, tactical nature of test cricket. Golf is like a cross between thoughtful cricket and countryside snooker. I love playing golf - a good walk enhanced, imo. Baseball? I can't help but laugh at the posturing, but I also enjoy the explosive nature of it. Boom! Home run/strike out! Each to their own, though. You don't have to like something just because I do.

If someone is near the family area, then yeah, they should consider their language in case younger children are there. As for being in the rest of the ground, open season on profanities (as long as it's not racist, etc, etc). You don't go to a football match to be 'polite'. You go for passion and a release of emotional energy.

This week has dragged, hasn't it? Sorry, I wasn't being deliberately sarcastic (I'm afraid it comes naturally!). I genuinely hope they're both in the squad.

She goes to an adult activity and complains about adults behaving like adults? Maybe she should take her son to the U10 matches at Marchwood.

Squad for Sunday hopefully.

Well it's only fair as they'll have 12 including the man in black!

Boxing Water polo Wrestling? Dominoes... probably.

Not really a fair comparison. The vast majority of rugby players show the ref and each other respect for safety reasons. They also have designated kickers, preventing such arguments. Doesn't stop them trying to cheat or have a go at each other sometimes, though. But the physical competition is much greater so injuries are worse. However, I think Boufal did show passion, wanting to take the kick and score a goal. No passion would've meant he sulked in the background instead. I have no problem with his attitude on this occasion.

Gave Lemina more control of the midfield, and we had a target man up front. Meant we looked to pass forwards more (although old habits had to be purged first, like during the first 20 minutes when we were a bit ordinary). If we could do the same in future games then we may escape the quicksand of the relegation battle. Depends if the manager can be more consistent with selections and make fewer changes, but more effective ones.

Dunno if anyone has posted it already (cba to look), but we're 2nd on MotD tonight, after Arsenal v Everton. No doubt the Cyrille factor helps - hope they show some of the tribute.
-
Hopefully MoPe now knows his strongest [current] team. Today's starting line up, but with Hoj instead of Romeu. Players often raise their game against the big clubs (touting for business?), so maybe we have a chance to get something. However, I think VvD will want to prove a point and will be firing up his new team mates (especially our old buddies). If so, we could be in for a hammering. Imagine if they put out a team including VvD, Lallana, Clyne, Lovren & Mane, then they went and thumped us - that would hurt.

Thanks. BBC comment said Lemina's goal was from 20 yards out. More like 25+. Fantastic strike, deserved a win just for that. One of those you could watch again and again. Not quite Golac, but a clean hit into the top corner does it for me. JWP's free kick was pretty good, too. Hard & low, tough for any keeper.

Oof! YASSS 3 points away, came from behind. Good win, boys!
-
Still trying to work out where 5 mins came from. 1 to go...
-
Very scrappy now. This will suit WBA for a last gasp goal. Eesh! We really need to push up, not back off.
-
I don't care how we play now, just don't let a buckin' goal in. In fact, score one, instead. Ooh penalty? Gah offside!
-
Ta-daa, as if by magic! Boufal off
-
Invisibly, except when he fought JWP for the ball. Actually, that's a bit unfair, but he's been overshadowed by Lemina.
-
Well, should that have been a pen to us? Shoulders, but these days if you're not playing the ball... I say correct again, ref.
-
Needanothergoal, needanothergoal needanothergoal. nail-biting, finger-chewing, arm-eating... ... corner to us. Come ON!!!
