Good win. Important win.
Good to get an early goal.
Sims was excellent.
Nice to have Cedric back.
VvD immense as usual.
Hojbjerg excellent.
Austin made Everton nervous (more than Lukaku did to us).
Everyone else, good value.
Sims! Fantastic run - pity about the final pass. Right choice, just didn't quite make it.
Very open game now. Will this suit us, or will Everton benefit from more space? Bolasie looks lively.
Barclaycard off - Mirallas on for Everton. Damn!
Hojbjerg looking very lively & tricky today. He tries different things, kind of like Tadic.
What a save from Forster! Whistle for a foul already, but he didn't know that.
I'd rather Saints won (I'm sure you would, too). I'd feel too guilty being relieved/happy about them losing. I don't bet, though, so no danger of that.
Ooh good skills from Hoj.
We seem to be attacking with more purpose in this match than in a lot of recent games. Getting in the box, behind their last line, less predictable.
This is good. Just need that final finish - Austin needs to be right up on their last man.
Ah, classic Koeman attack - good passing followed by a blast over the bar.
Shouldn't we have the tactical advantage here, knowing a bit more about how RonK likes to play? Or is that rubbished by the fact he has different players?
We seem to be doing well too far - apologies if that's the curse laid.
Sims doing well - nice to see another academy youngster fitting in. What's happened to Hesketh? Injured?
Haha, whoops - thinking one thing, typing another. Didn't check.
In short, I'm keen for us to be in as many competitions as possible, for as long as possible. So, any results that make that happen.
Win against Everton & Palace, getting our goalscoring boots back on. This would allow a 0-0 against Beersheba. No disgrace to lose to Arsenal, maybe 2-1 after an injury time penalty...?
This keeps us ok in PL and retains our interest in the cups.
Also shoves it up RonKo haha
