  1. Think you're being overly negative here if its any consolation. Delaying does make some sense given the next international break is the 15th November, which means after QPR (a) and Wed (h), our next match is Charlton on the 22nd. There is therefore a bit of time to sort a replacement. Albeit, i would prefer us to have been ready to go this week with a replacement. It does raise the question as to why the delay - are we waiting for someone, or is it to give the U21 guy a chance? it would make no sense at all to remove either of trollope or lallana at this stage imo - that would leave the interim U21 manager almost entirely bereft of senior coaching support. On Romeu - I don't see a specific relation between that decision and saints wanting to employ the U21 manager full time. Indeed, the entire fanbase is delighted he's back, and not one of those comments has said the reason they're delighted is because he'll be great at supporting the u21 manager - everyone can see he is something we're missing and badly need. All said, i think you're reaching for something negative imo - which is understandable - but also tbf to him, no one really knows how good the U21 manager will do over these next 2 games - he could be mustard for all we know.
  2. It isn't RM, not a cat's chance in hell.... Knowing SR, they could find someone even worse though 😄
  3. The thing that worries me about this, is that it implies they've sacked him without already having a pretty firm idea who to appoint afterwards. I think even the most patient fan would have to admit that Still's sacking has been coming for a couple of weeks minimum at this point. I know there is an international break coming up, but we really can't afford to be wasting time for the new manager to get himself in the door and start working with the squad... Are we perhaps caught in a queue where managers are waiting to see what jobs become avaialble as we enter prime sacking window? Or are we waiting for our preferred candidate to get sacked somewhere else first.... ðŸĪĢ
  4. Hah, i will have to look for it, had totally forgotten there was a call in last night. Jokingly mentioning something on here is one thing, calling into a radio show with it is something else...
  5. Haha no, why - did someone suggest exactly this? 😅
  6. Longer shots - I wonder if we could tempt Bruno Lage - been at Wolves, Swansea, and Wednesday throughout his career. Or, can we get Le Tissier to phone up Xavi and get him involved? He did idolise Le Tiss as a kid... Looking at the german sphere of coaching, Marco Rose is a great shout. And then Viera has good links to Spors previously.

    Tyler Dibling

Yeah, agree it's a shame (I thought he was a huge talent potentially), but from the club's side it's also done now - nothing more they can do and it's for Tyler and his family to sort out this out. As I said above, the club needs to find a way of educating these players or protecting them better.

Hah, yes exactly. Moyes is very well regarded for developing young players. For my sins, I'm good friends with a couple of Everton fans, to say that they think Dibling should be getting more game time (or that they blame Moyes for Dibling being shit) is just make believe. Fairy tale stuff in fact. They're extremely disappointed with him, think his attitude is off, and think we've mugged them right off 😄
  9. Merely building on your point about management styles by highlighting that whilst our last good manager was rumoured to have had poor man management, most of the shit ones since have been hired in part due to their good man management of the players (Selles, Martin, Still).... 😉 We haven't missed good times or winning streaks in the prem at all have we... ðŸĪŠ And neither 9-0 comes remotely close to last season imo.

Sad that he'll waste his potential, but equally he's a brilliant example to be used for the rest of the academy kids. He left saints rather than have a year starring in the championship learning how to carry a team and become the main man (Grealish did the opposite and got Villa promoted, earning his move). Dibling sadly looks like another of the recent academy batches that have had eyes on the money and fame first and foremost - without respecting the effort it takes to ultimately really earn it. I don't know if the club can do something to better educate them or shield them from bad agents? But either way, its no longer our problem in Tyler's case. I think most Saints fans knew it wasn't the best move, so it really is a case of him being very badly advised. The unfortunate part of it for Saints is that he may somewhat damage the perceived value of our "academy products".
  11. And Will Still was very well regarded for his man management ðŸĪĢ. So was Martin - great mates with the players.
  12. When he had a fit Ings, he managed at top 4 points tally over a 38 game run... 😅
  13. @Matthew Le God
  14. Romeu had a couple of nasty injuries early on if memory serves, so doesn't quite have the full mileage on him that other experienced pros do.
  15. Just appoint Ralph already, then swap sick note for JWP and we're sorted.
  16. I want exactly that - at skates away in the 95th minute to seal 3 points. With Ralph crying on his knees on the touchline whilst fist pumping the home fans. I haven't asked for much from SR...
  17. Pretty accurate take though 😄
  18. This in abundance.
  19. Yeah, and funnily enough we'd some very good years out of the u18s in the years since ðŸĪ”
  20. I'd have him back in a heartbeat, he's a known quality that loves the club and will light a rocket under all the players with shit attitude... Will be boufal, hoedt, lemina levels of clear out... 😅 We've also got the right players to play his 4-2-2-2 system. Charles / jander / romeu / Downes / matsuki / essay as CMs. Proper wide attacking mids in scienza, fellows, Robinson, Fraser, AA. And pacey strikers with decent movement in AA, Archer, and the academy lad. Plus Stewart when he is back. Not to mention good wing backs...
  21. Excellent. Now get the former saint that is Ralph back in the building, and let's start smashing the league.
  22. I would also be very interested in a poll on Ralph returning.
  23. Coming back to it. I don't think it's too impossible that it may be Ralph. We've sacked the manager just a week after he was in the stands at city, and yes I know he was supposedly not there for us, but it's a long old way to go to see an old friend - only to spend your evening watching the game. In essence, I'm saying it shows he still retains a soft spot for saints... He's also available, he knows and loves the club, he's worked with spors historically, and he's got a history of being promoted (in the German leagues). He'll also know the culture of the recent German players and the red bulls type setup, and he won't take any shit from players like Downes, thb, Stephens etc.

    Will Still

Still quite literally only has himself to blame. Our league position with this squad is embarrassing. Fellows, Azaz, Scienza, AA... he has arguably one of the very best set of forward players in the league to chose from - and more importantly players that are tailor made for his own self declared favourite formation which he refused to play.... Let alone with the likes of Jander, Downes, and Charles behind them - or players like Jelert, Rooerslev, Wellington, Manning etc. This squad should be chasing autos, not only just sat above the relegation by virtue of Sheffield Wednesday imploding. The mistake SR have made is hiring Still - but still has very little to complain about. He has spectacularly failed.
  25. Sounds like he is off to Wolves.
