  1. Allen was adamant on twitter a while back that he'd been asking the difficult questions and had criticised Lampitt in the News, the Express (whatever that is) and to his face. I, for one, think he was lying and is a bull****ter.
  2. MLG - maybe ask Nallen why Pompey aren't in the frame to buy Jay Rodriguez with half the money they made from the sale of the "Portsmouth Ace" that is AOC.
  3. I suspect that Allen actually has very little access to Birch (who probably sees him as a rather stupid, low rent journalist) and so is not capable of putting the difficult and important questions to him, so to fill space in the rag he churns out a prodigious number of ill-informed and uninformative tripe. He's dreadful. Simply dreadful.
  4. You're praying that's the case, aren't you Trev?
  5. Another Neil Allen masterpeice there Sid. The only people who held these "fears" that they might be docked points for starting the season in admnistration were those who didn't have a clue about the FL rules. They were never going to be docked points for this, as it's not an offence. They also won't get docked any points for playing in blue or having TCWTB. However, there's no mention of the FL giving TB "assurances" that they won't get any points deductions for the litany of other sins, including blowing off CVA1 without paying a penny of it.
  6. Well that's the whole point - they HAVEN'T had to worry about it. They KNOW they'll get paid, come hell or high water, thanks to the FCR.
  7. You're in the market for a new job and are headhunted by a couple of your current employer's competitors. Company A is a good, solid company with a strong reputation for financial management and offers you £50k/year. Company B is a little fly-by-night, has been in financial trouble in the past and had to sack several employees without any severance package not that long ago but they offer you £60k/year. Would you take the risk of the higher salary knowing that you could be in the dole queue in 18 months time? Now imagine that, despite Company B being financially dubious, you're guaranteed to get paid, whatever bother they may get themselves into? Now to you take the risk? What risk? There is no risk. Now, if Company A wants you, they have to match what Company B are offering. Next time around, Company B offer someone else £65k/year to outbid Company A. Company A have to match it. Repeat ad nauseum and you find John Utaka is being paid £80,000 each and every week.
  8. Massive, tbf.
  9. I wonder how much tax has not been paid by football clubs as the result of administrations over the pasy 10 years or so. I wonder, for example, how many extra nurses or policemen that might have funded?
  10. Unless the FCR is overturned - with that issue still to be resolved players should now be thinking long and hard about whether a contract they're signing will be honoured. And, of course, even £14m doesn't go far when you have 8 players on £20k+ a week.
  11. PM me, big boy
  12. Ergo, desperate players. It's surely not an attractive proposition to join a club with a history of not paying on time, "requesting" wage deferrals, teetering on the brink of liquidation, facing a possible points deduction if they do survive, playing in a crap ground, with training facilities that are distincly non-league and so much uncertaintly about club ownership and team management in the immediate future. And on top of that, you've got 'Appy telling you that you'll need to wait a bit before you can sign, but it will all be alright in the end, honest, and that you should reject offers from other clubs who are waving a pen under your nose. Hmmm....
  13. In all seriousness, why would anyone but the most desperate player want to join Pompey? Seriously. Why? And Rallyboy, that's gold
  14. He's certainly prolific though, is Mr Allen. Ok, most of his stories are total sh*t, but he doesn't let that stop him. The latest 3 stories on the News site: No f***ing sh*t. You don't say! About bloody time.
  15. Either Allen is stupid enough to believe the usual footballers platitudes are "genuine and heartfelt" or he knows he's writing for an audience who are stupid enough to believe the usual footballers platitudes are "genuine and heartfelt". Or both.
  16. Might as well blame Plymouth fans or Port Vale fans, tbf.
  17. LOL, nice one trousers
  18. Whoops, yep, I'm a spaz. 20p, not 4p. *insert embarassed gif here* Sorry peeps.
  19. Why would Peterborough fans scratch the initials of Portsmouth Football Club on someone's car?
  20. hutch - 100000 * 0.04 = 4000. 4000 * 0.02 = 80. No?
  21. Agreed, I guess HMRCs stance is still 100% or GTFO but PKF must be aware of a rough figure that the other major creditors might consider acceptable. If so, and if the 2% figure is in any way accurate, it means that it's the kind of figure the major unsecured creditors might vote in favour of - or at least some might. Alternatively, PKF know that it's never going to be accepted and they're making the proposal as a way to save face ("we tried our best") before pulling the plug.
  22. What I don't know (and Clapham Saint might be able to answer this) is whether PKF are likely to have been in dialogue with the major unsecured creditors (BT, HMRC etc) about what may be an acceptable proposal to them. I'd surprised if they haven't and if they just put a proposal to the creditors "blind".
