  1. We can still have 'derby' matches when you're in the BSq, it just means you have about 6 qualifying rounds of the FAC before you get to the stage we will be joining.
  2. They have no longer than they had yesterday, the Vantis paperwork has to be in the court's hands next Wednesday. This is solely because there wasn't an earlier slot in the court calendar. It also gives HMRC longer to dissect Vantis's report

  6. Re the EPL advancing money; From the Daily Mail article, the EPL say that what is being proposed in an advance of what they would normally have expected to receive in August - so it is either (1) the first installament of next season's TV money ( in the unlikely event they stay up ), or (2) the first year's parachute payment ( when they go down ). It should not alter the court's view of whether they are trading insolvently, as that will surely be based on their cashflow between September and today. ( As mister Micawber put it "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen pounds nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery." ). It would also mean that, in the unlikely event they survive, they start next season in the CCC without the cushion of the parachute payment.

  8. In the unlikely event of them finding a buyer, I assume that the Gaydamaks and Chainrai will want to recover their money, or a substantial part of it. How quickly would they want it ?
  9. I think it goes as follows; In the next 9 days, Poopey have to.... 1) pay off HMRC ( apparently £11m+ ) 2) provide evidence to the courts that they are currently not insolvent 3) provide definitive proof of investment to maintain them as a going concern If they fail on any 1 of these, they are closed down.
  10. Does that include the Income Tax and the EE & ER National Insurance contributions ?
  11. This is just prolonging the agony:( If PFC were a horse, the bolt gun would have been deployed long ago.

I thought it was about the end of a neighbouring football club At least, that's is what I've seen on YOUTUBE. ( More seriously, a truly brilliant film, and the scene where Frau Goebbles kills her children is absolutely chilling ).

  14. I'm in London all day, something to do with the Friday being my wife's birthday, and the Sunday being Valentine's day, and for some reason she thinks that merits doing 'something special' I'm sure there'll be a pub on Oxford Street I can nip into while she's maxing out the CC.
  15. And this answer, ladies and gents, is today's QI factoid.
  16. No it is not, technically it is an oblate spheroid, fatter around the 'waist' than it is top to bottom.

  23. Daughter is 27, elder son is 20 - they sort their own holidays out, and are reasonably trustworthy.

  25. I go down the garden every morning to feed my chickens Apart from that, there is a nesting pair of collared doves in our laurel tree; various small species of bird through the year, ( blackbirds, thrushes, blue-tits, coal-tits, greenfinches, goldfinches, robins, etc ); owls in the field at the back, and in the spring and summer months pipistrels and horseshoe bats. We even, once, had a pair of lovebirds, presumably escaped from an aviary, perched on the telephone wire.
