  1. But is KWP an improvement on, or even equal to, Soares ?
  2. I suppose that will depend on how the trade negotiations with the EU / USA / uncle Tom Cobley and all, pan out
  3. I'd think that the Trans Pennine upgrade should be scheduled ahead of HS2. Mainline trains from Manchester and Liverpool to London can take as little as 2 hours, and are regularly scheduled. However the connecting local services, and through trains to Leeds and beyond, are an utter shambles.
  4. Nothing significant changes until New Year's Day 2021, other than new UK passports will now be blue.
  5. BrexitCentral, a clearly unbiased source.
  6. I'm not angry about leaving the EU, but I am sad that the over-riding image of our country is that it is insular and xenophobic.
  7. Actually I was wrong. Although the UK will not be leaving the Single Market or Customs Union tomorrow, no EU regulations will be removed from the Statute Book, we will remain bound by EU monitoring and regulatory bodies until Dec 31st, and nothing will change regarding travel between the UK and the EU, one thing will definitely change - we will no longer be able to extradite suspects from Germany. So crack open the bubbly, ( British of course ).
  8. So, you will be celebrating absolutely nothing happening for the next 11 months.
  9. I have no idea as to whether she has a gym membership, or perhaps goes jogging. She has, however, been accused of plagiarising her MSc thesis, and is a devout Creationist. HTH
  10. Just up your street; she is a member of a right wing, nationalist, anti immigrant party, that votes against policies aiming to mitigate climate change.
  11. I think the labels and costumes are the wrong way round.
  12. No presenter/s in the last 19 years have been better than Ant & Dec ?
  13. If you rearrange the letters of Postman Pat, he gets really annoyed.
  14. The east stand at Bloomfield Road is one of those permanent "temporary" structures, it was erected to comply with the regulations of the Premier League. Before being given the Order of the Boot, the Oystons were trying to gain additional land along Back Henry Street so as to continue the development of that side of the ground in similar form to the other 3 sides.
  15. Ninety-Nine
  16. Northern Rail as well. Only just over half their trains run to schedule. I have not experienced SWT, but if they are worse than Northern they must truly be sh_it.
  17. Doesn't he live in Number 10 ?
  18. Are you aiming for 'tit of the week' ? So, how 'independent' will the UK be on 'Independence Day' ?
  19. https://www.ft.com/content/9c5538ba-410c-11ea-a047-eae9bd51ceba "Brexit day will transform the UK’s relationship with Europe, shift the country’s place in the world and herald a new era in international relations. But little to nothing will immediately change. " "During that 11-month spell, the UK will keep many of the benefits and obligations of being in the EU: British nationals will no longer be EU citizens, but they will be able to travel around the union as freely as before; British members of the European parliament will have packed their bags, but the UK will remain a fully integrated part of the single market." "The UK will enter a twilight period during which it will continue to apply and be bound by all EU laws but will be ejected from the EU’s political institutions..." "Britain will have zero say over the EU rules that will still apply to the country for the next 11 months." "Free movement of goods will continue during the transition period. But Britain will no longer be represented in the crucial technical work the EU carries out to decide which products can be sold in its market and under what conditions."
  20. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51279906 "Companies involved in the refurbishment of Grenfell Tower knew a planned cladding system would fail in the event of a fire, emails suggest."
  21. it might be funny on 1st Feb with Leavers who are unaware that we won't actually have left, but will simply have entered the transition period, and won't have revoked much of the dreaded EU red tape.
  22. Et tu Brute ?
  23. Where do lobsters catch trains ? King's Crustacean.
  24. Did you spot the Sikh soldier ?
