I read it. It seemed a bit strange to read the Sun on a day when you don't normally see it. Generally the Sun has always been more tongue in cheek and the NOTW far more malicious and spiteful and that did not seem to have changed now it is published on a Sunday. I like the sensational sports coverage but generally this paper can be read in twenty minutes and you do not get bogged down like you do in the Sunday Times or the Observer.

Not sure about him. I will give him every chance though.

Lambert will score goals in the premier league. I am amazed he ended up with us for so long.

I think to say that the Church collaborated is abursdly strong. They were fighting for their existance and probably less hostile to Hitler because they feared Communism more. You should also not shun the role of Christians around Europe who offered sanctuary to persecuted Jews.
-
that was quick for such a broad topic. So what were your thoughts on the buring anxiety statement?
-
That is a great generalisation. I would suggest that you do some reading on the subject.
-
Then what is the relevance of Verbal's point?
-
You are rather naive if you think that Hitler was a pious man. I will simplify it for you Verbal by saying that people with close religious associations to the mainstream religions are less likley to be involved in crime than those that are not. Would you agree?
-
Dawkins goes on about actions and how you ask the questions in a survey. What do you think would be the answer if you asked people if they wanted a spiritual or religious ceremony to their funeral? I would argue that the figure would be pretty high.
-
I would not contest that there is a decline in religious belief but 54% is still a majority. I feel is a great shame and a reflected in the deterioration in moral values. I think that extinction is a rather crude assumption. Religious revivals happen, like the one in the Welsh valleys where they had to turn the police force into bands because crime dried up.

They are dormant Christians.
-
Sorry but that was an interpretation of the survey by a rather spiteful atheist trying to form an argument.
-
You seem to be talking about yourself. All we can go with is the last census and that showed that you are in the minority.
-
I would argue that most people in this country are dormant Christians. Every Parish has a Church and most of us make use of it when we want to get our children Christened or when we want to get married and times of bereavement. Birth, marriage and death are the key points of peoples lives and the church is where most of us head for at these times. During times of crisis and remembrance the local church or cathedral is a focal point. In the main we remain a Christian nation even if we are not as active as we once were. I would also suggest that those who were genuinely god fearing were always in the minority.
-
Most people I know still Christen their children, most people I know still get married in a church, most funerals I go to are in a church. In my world we are a christian.

Cannot believe he is thirty. We might hold onto him. How did he slip the net of the premiership. Hope we make it because he deserves to play on that stage.
-
Rovers fans loved him. I think there is a you tube clip made by them. I think he will score goals in the premier leagure. Hopefully with us.

No offence Dr Who but if I offered somebody £5000 and then they said oops my mistake it was £7000 I might do the same. I am sure that it was a genuine mistake but it did not great to a potential lender.
