The word I would use for those that stayed at home, shunned their neighbours, did nothing to help their communities come together and missed out on all the fun is;
Chippy
Well I am not going to elaborate on where I live Verbal but I do eat Ferrer Roche.
As I am sure you would agree you cannot blame the Queen for the 'Jubilee thirty'. The Guardian's equivalent of the Daily Mail's tedious bash the BBC headlines.
Yes it would make such a difference to people's quality of life. Lets cater for your chippiness with a long winded change.
You really are its a Knock out not Krypton factor.
"Aren't we all, dearie. You don't have to believe in the divine right of a German to rule over us all to qualify as British" Badgerx16
Definately the dart thrower on Bullseye.
The only person taking all the Jubilee celebrations seriously is you Verbal. Too self concious and intellectually superior to join in or even to belong to a community. Unable to recognise how great it is that such an event brings people neighbours and friends together. You seem to think that our Monchary is somehow like Japans or Thailand's.
You seem to be looking forward to the Queen falling off her perch - how should we judge you; is that not more disturbing? What you forget is that the public like the Queen but they also like the institution and your hopes of a diluted monarchy will be dashed.
I hope not. I know somebody just back from Afghanistan and he spent four hours last month talking to every family of everyone who had come back. A true legend.
In my experience people that do not join in in our village are chippy and do not want to be part of the community. Sort of people that ring the council when you cockerel wakes them up.
