His love of Saints is probably because he has been here a long time. I would argue that one of the reasons we got relegated before was because they cleared out all of the backroom staff who had been with us for years. They were the ones who told all the incoming plyers why they were privileged to play for our club. I want to support a club that I like the players - although of course there is a balance.

In fairness you called me a troll for daring to defend Jack. A lot of people failed to appreciate that as somebody eloquently pointed out, was a 'voice in a silent dressing room'. He is a low end premiership defender that is is why is still with us. He is though one of the few players that generate team spirit in the dressing room and that has a considerable value. I like him because he is Saints through and through. If we are to get out of this death dive it will be down to loyalists like Jack. If and when we get back to the premiership he can fire up the team from the bench.

We need people like Jack in the dressing room next season.

It never gets mentioned that until the Palace game we have consistently filled St Marys this season whilst watching the team register the worst results in Premier league history. If that had been Newcastle 'its like a religion' United or Manchester Citeh they would be fawning over this. Like most other Saints fans I will be renewing.

I think that Sports Republic have acted in good faith. They have certainly spend the money. I think that they have been very badly advised.

I think having a good football team contributes to the mood and appeal of the city. I was a student in Newcastle in the 1990's and Sir John Hall used the football team as a vehicle for raising the profile of the North East.

Nothing short of him getting on his knees and declaring his love, respect and gratitude to Trump will repair the damage that has been caused. Who advises Zelensky?!?!
-
I would have him selling programmes if he refuses to play.
-
He is quite vain and legacy will be on his mind. He wants to be seen as the good guy. Ukraine v Russia is with a marginal grey tinge is a question of right and wrong.
-
I think that Trump will have to navigate domestic public opinion. Americans are not stupid and have a sense of fair play they will not want Putin to be rewarded for his aggression. Shitting on Ukraine will not be well received at home.

That does undermine my suspicions but there is more to come out. Sadly I do not have much trust in what we are being told. -

So why was he referred to Prevent three times? -

I am not sure you have to be Hercule Poirot to know what the motive was. As somebody pointed out the authorities should have been honest with why they did not say at the time. Most of us would have nodded along but the fact they haven't, makes me uncomfortable. -
I had a very good pint in there a few years ago! Lovely part of the world. Wilderness.

Trolling??!? Many criticised Benali but his contribution in the dressing room was considerable. I remember seeing a statistic at one point that we won more games when he was playing than when he was not.
-
He may not be Maldini but I love Jack Stephen's passion and commitment to our Club. I would rather support our team with players like Jack Stephens in it than superior footballers without the affection for the club like ABK.
-
Of course I will give him a chance but don't we just need a 'safe pair of hands'? Somebody that knows the English game inside out and chucks a few cups of tea around. Once again we are just trying to be clever.

Was that not the Bulgarians?

Its Monday but its been a difficult day. I have edited it!

Take a sip of your drink, breath out and admit that what success now looks for us this season is beating Derby's record of 11 points.

That is a good call. They looked very demotivated from the start.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
We should build higher for starters. Amazon and other sites have made much of the high street redundant so we should redesign our high streets. Building on greenfield sites is an environmental crime that can never be undone. -
We will play quite well and then give a goal away. Play quite well and maybe even score a goal before giving a goal away and then conceding another. Russell Martin then talks about how brave the players have been. It is not brave it is stupid.
