What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?
Unbelievable Jeff replied to maysie's topic in The Saints
Yes I agree it is the club we should support, but where have I said I support the board though? If we sell Schneiderlin or J Rod this window then I will be angry now, but I 100% believe that this won't happen. -

This. As I've stated before the board never had a chance with some posters. There are some very good reasons why I trust the board and will continue to do so unless they properly renege on their promises - which I don't believe will happen. -
Belhanda will play very far forward, just off the striker or even as a second striker if need be, similar to Lambert's position. This may be the thinking with him.

Would love Belhanda, the guy is class.

Neither Teider or Schelotto would be starters I would have thought. Squad padding. -
Awesome if so...not sure we need another AM though. Belhanda is belhandy.

I thought Fonte was offered a new contract weeks ago, hence the issue with it being sent through the post?

NI? Ah yes, but since that rate came in 2012 footballers over there have had a blind eye turned to them (in general) in relation to tax savings, in the same way that Real and Barca are let off from their taxes. As long as the footballers are seen to be paying in line with the previous high tax rate (25%) then they are let off. That is why an example was made of Messi as he was well below this.

He doesn't take a paycut when you take into account the tax paid in each country.

Interesting to read opinions on Samaras... http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/showthread.php?t=143564

That's an excellent point. I seem to remember that Ronaldo wasn't as good 8 years ago as well.

Injury prone, high wages, in a position we don't need. 100% agree.

I don't think anyone is suggesting this. I don't think anyone is happy with where we are right now, however, there are different ways of interpreting what is happening and how many times you assert that point of view. I think that is why.

Ha, awesome! Hypo I've ignored for years, I seem to remember him commenting on someone who had lost a baby in a very derogatory way and that did it for me. The guy is a grade A ***** and should have banned for life for that. Batman is just bored now he's not getting bum tickled on a sub and decides to troll, but with none of the old Glasgow style stats. Makes him too easy to deflect.

Where SHOULD we be aiming for this season?
Unbelievable Jeff replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
The point is I believe we're being priced out of the market this season as we are forefinger to pay too much for players when other teams know we have a lot of money to spend. -
We'll have first option
-
Not really, we have to pay the gross amount. So, if we got 20m for Lovren, to buy a 20m player we'd have to add a significant amount to the transfer (possibly around 4 million after consolidation payments, agents fees etc) from what we got for Lovren.
-
Would she not have to pay what can only be described as an utter **** ton in corporation tax as they're removing profit from the business?

Perhaps I should say 'realistic expectations'. -
I've noticed this has been ignored again, something that I have and I'm pretty sure Whitey G have pointed out. But hey, who cares about stuff like that?

Obviously we are struggling to bring in players of a decent quality, but does it actually matter? Are we better getting players on loan, keeping the squad much the same, finishing mid to bottom of the table (10th to 16th), keeping hold of our decent players and then spending an utter ton next Summer, (100-120 million) and push for top 5/cup? To me all we really need now is a striker and central defender and we'll be fine for this season.
