Which promises are you referring to? Please and thank yous.

An attitude which is indicative of what is wrong with the majority of political discussion.

Thanks. Looks at though he's had his turned by a big club though

Where are these rumours? Regardless, I endorse this move

To be fair, you pretty much won't accept anything until it's on the OS. -

Same here. Furthermore, I'll be ticked off if our replacement isn't at an advanced stage...money's all well and good, but if we then have to go and pay (excessive) premiums because clubs know we're flush, then the benefit of receiving bumper fees is somewhat undermined. -
This is of course overlooking that Stones is on a long term contract, Saido will likely be sold this summer because he's entering the last year of his contract (i.e. in an almost identical situation to Wanyama, forced to stay last summer), and Vardy has chosen to stay with the title winning club of last season (and even that's no certainty just yet). Furthermore, both Stones and Berahino were forced to stay after good seasons, and subsequently had poor and non-existent seasons respectively.
-
I don't know why Bertrand is staying so narrow. He seems really hesitant.
-
...because a player coming to the end of his contract *won't* sign another contract?

These guys only need take a glance at Leicester...accomplishing arguably the most incredible feat of any club in PL history, and they're having to fight to keep their best players, most of whom are only a year or two into long term deals (as opposed to last years).

 Edit: To expand upon my immediate reaction, which players/excellent work are you chalking up to Mitchell at Spurs?

When all is said and done, VW has been a good player for us, but for as many people as there are underestimating his value, there are just as many exaggerating it (perhaps that's to be expected). He had a lukewarm first season, a fantastic second session, and an okay-to-poor third season (when viewed in its entirety, I.e. ten good games doesn't negate twice as many poor). Fantastic on his day, yes, but if he's sulking about something, you'd better be believe he's going to be lackadaisical. Having said that, perhaps he won't have anything to sulk about at Spurs (what with it's proximity to the club he'd long sought a move to).

This. P.S Although he has been interviewed/talked to according to KBilly.

It's probably just a formality. I'd have thought both would be welcome to stay, of course.

Exactly, there clearly is an interest in Howe from the club, so there's no point in us turning our noses up/acting as if he's beneath us if he flat out rejects the idea. Still, I'd be hopeful that we sign someone with a heavier/more influential name in Europe/the World (as good as I'm sure Howe is).

Like Koeman? Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with feeling cheated by Koeman (Koeman's words). If that gives rise to bitterness, so be it - football is an emotional sport after all. That being said, it's probably not healthy to get too invested in individuals, because careers in football can largely be described as transient (and I think I've finally f*cking woken up to that 'depressing' fact).

 One can only despise so much - I may have to even consider forgiving Lallana

So much for gardening leave (...although this is undoubtedly the best option financially). Anyway, adios. Good job on souring two great years, ya classless merc

I don't have a clue, hence my asking

The suggestion on the Everton forum is that this would be illegal/unenforceable (beyond that of a gentleman's agreement, presumably)...can anyone shed any light on this, please? And to a lesser extent, can a similar agreement be installed on our transfer targets (of which RK is undoubtedly aware)? Surely not(?).

I'd call that a relative failure when you consider that you were the first team to have dugouts. How the mighty have fallen.
