  1. I think this is a healthy attitude. There is no point in fretting about whether players will stay or go. Enjoy them when they are here and look forward to an equally good or better replacement when they go.
  2. That would explain a lot!
  3. So the argument goes that we could all be concealing weapons therefore are fair game to be shot? If there were greater gun controls we wouldn't have weapons to conceal and therefore the police wouldn't have to shoot us. N'est par? I don't think "us" Brits think we know it all. What we do have is a common sense attitude to guns and do not like the idea of arming the population. We also do not like the idea of the police shooting people just because they are a) running away b) get out of their car and c) may or may not be packing heat. It is interesting to me that the terms "collateral damage" and "friendly fire" came from the USA. The land of the free, oxymorons and cop out phrases.
  4. Lets face it, we were never going to maintain our challenge for the top 4 with the squad we have. That is why the top teams pay big wages and big bucks for players and are the top teams. They buy quality, depth and resilience. To be where we were for so long was awesome and speaks volumes about the management and the squad. Defensively we are still ok but as we all know teams sussed us out and we haven't had the firepower up front to continue our position. We have done better than last year and are progressing. I for one and more than happy with that. Enjoy the season for what it is.

  6. Probably the fact that they are not displaying any weapons is a bit of a give away. As for your constant put downs of Brits. You are a Brit are you not?
  7. And you lack a sense of humour and irony like many Americans (except of course that you are British).
  8. So what if I cant spell Armaggedon. Its not the end of the world.
  9. Yes, you would have shot him! This clip shows that it is not necessary and that people can be arrested without blowing holes in them. The point we were making before was about shooting unarmed people running away or not posing a threat to the life of the officer. The example previously has led to the officer being charged with murder.
  10. What's up with basketball too? Go up one end, score, go up the other end score...continue to the final whistle. The team that score immediately before the end of the match wins. Pah.
  11. I am of that same vintage that remembers seeing Docker play when first watching Saints play. RIP and thanks for the memories.
  12. Many of use break the speed limit every day and many of us don't get caught and charge. Does that mean we haven't committed a crime? Does a crime only exist if there is a charge and a conviction? What of the rapes that go uncharged? No crime?
  13. Let's do sports. I'll start. Baseball is just over hyped rounders and American Football is the biggest pantomime going. Get that bloody padding off and play like real men. Tarts.
  14. Yes lots have closed but that doesn't mean to say that there aren't any left. There are still plenty around. And Britain has changed hugely since 1975. The 70s wasn't great. 3 day weeks, crap fashions, the IRA bombings etc. But you know what, we are quite civilised now. And you don't have to worry about being shot by the police if you turn your back on them

    Danny Ings

Some people would say anything for a sh@g. I take it "know" and "an encounter" are euphemisms?
  16. Winterburn
  17. Hilton
  18. What debate? Are you honestly saying that Gerard wasn't a quality player in his prime?
  19. Are you seriously suggesting that you think it is okay to take guns up to the school gate???
  20. Really? When was the last time you were here?
  21. pepperoni
  22. Yeah WTF is up with that? Don't understand a) why anyone without a personality disorder would want to do that and b) why the mods allow it.
