  1. strange that in the last 10 years, Man utd have been in 3 league cup finals, Liverpool have also been in 3 as have Chelsea, even Arsenal who field a youth team have made 1 final, they might not take it as seriously as the champions league and the prem, but they all like to win it. We are in this competition, we should try to win it. as said elsewhere the trophy cabinet is a bit empty at the mo, and it would be good for both Fan's and Players to experience the new Wembley, it may be an advantage if we get there in the playoffs (this year or next). If we do get to the final, could you get me a ticket using your season ticket/membership, because obviously you wont want to go, & I am lucky if I get to one game a season & would love it to go to Wembley.
  2. no, he's right, I am a bit embarrassed now, I can imagine the headline now, "Football fans support club hero - Shocker", in fairness we are educating the average Irish Football fan, who does not realise there are more than 5/6 clubs in England. Even when we were in the prem people said "Who?" when I said I supported Southampton, and then they would remember the 6-3 against utd (when Utd changed their shirts...) if this poll was left to fans over here I don't think MLT would even figure in the top 10 and that is just plane wrong. thanks for everyone's support, keep up the good work and give the few Saints that live across the water bragging rights, even if it is a badly ran poll in a crappy enough paper.
  3. thanks .com, good to see a bit of fight in a saints player...
  4. who do we want in the next round? Leyton Orient 1 - Brighton & Hove Albion 0 (FT) MK Dons 2 - Southend Utd 0 (ft) Exeter 0 - Swindon 1 (L) Gillingham 0 - Norwich 1 (L) Charlton 2 - Barnet 1 (L) Hereford 1 - Aldershot 1 (L) Northampton 1 - Bournemouth 1 (L)
  5. 4 games to Wembley.... COYR.
  6. nevermink KD Saves - great stuff COYR
  7. what's happening?????// (edit) phew
  8. Saints are in the cup, we might as well try to win it it's our only real shot at silverware in a long time and I would be delighted to see Saints win anything. As well as a great day out for the fan's it would also give our players a chance to become accustomed to Wembley & lessen the nerves IF we manage to make the playoff final (this year at least) Unfortunately, that's football & I will be one of the plastic's looking for a ticket, my last game was the season before last B*ll*x i just noticed the score, we have to win this game first. edit - only 3 more games & we are in the final.... (can someone get me a ticket )
  9. lol nice one lads (and ladies), if only league position was decided by internet poll
  10. The Irish Examiner is running a comp to find the top 10 prem players of all time, of course we all want to see LeGod at the top of the list, & you may get to see a Prem Game if you win..... I know you have to fill in alot of details, but it is worth it to educate my fellow countrymen and show them what a legend MLT is.... http://www.10champions.com/
  11. lets hope we are not their first game under the new manager...
  12. just a thought, what (if any) teams in this division are in the sh*t financially, and looking good for administration/points deduction?
  13. praise the lord, a win at last...
  14. Thanks for the info TFC, even if AP did give you the "standard" answer that he would probably apply regardless of who you asked about, he is better off leaving us with the impression that he is approachable and listens to the fans. This is much better than an AP - "the fans don't have a clue" thread.
  15. release rodger.
  16. someone on here suggested that the hold up is due to Ramadan, I googled "Jaida Ramadan" at the time and it seemed to make sense . Ramadan is due to end this coming weekend. oh & great news about Waigo...
  17. People need to realise that there is a middle ground, the grey area where life is lived. I am sure that most of us agree that 4 points from the first 6 games in league 1 is unacceptable, and even with that the vast majority (if not all of us) think AP should continue to be the man in charge and recognise that he is building the squad, but even after buying the leagues top goal scorer and having 17 shots on target we still cant score against 10 man colchester - at home. I am also sure that the majority of the league would swap their squad/manager/transfer budget/facilities for ours in the morning, but still i know that most of us thought we were going to concede in the last 10 minutes yesterday. I don't understand why people on here have to be all one way or another, for or against, happy clappy or negative nelly, when it comes to football & Saints I can be all those things at once, but my overwhelming emotion is one of frustration. I am sure we can all agree that if we were asked before the season started how many points we would get after 6 games we all would have said more than 4. Now to balance that out I am off to look for a thread that will tell me we only need x points per game to get promoted. How many of us still think that Pardew's target of midtable by Christmas is obtainable?
  18. the team needs time to gel? 11 points away from safety - fact
  19. to quote Jeff Stelling "Still looking for first win, edged up to -6 points, not good enough at this stage in the season"
  20. Cheers, sky must be a bit behind.
  21. according to score centre, we have only had 3 shots on target so far.
  22. according to SSN, Saints have battered Colchester since the sending off, just can't get the ball in the net.
