Shorey turned out to be a great buy, as did Marcus Hahnemann and Mathew Upson.

 

As were Sidwell, Harper and Little...

 

The nucleus of that successful Reading side in the P'ship seems to have been bought in by Pardew. Hope he can do it again. Above all it'll be good to see a settled side!

He's done some nice business over the years, Harewood in for 500k out for 4 million. Nigel Reo-Coker in for 500k out for 8.5 million, Paul Konchesky in for 1.5 mill - out for 3.5 mill.

 

There's a few duds but nothing on the Delgado scale on the whole I'd say that was a pretty impressive transfer record.

Interesting that many people wanted Coppell after the great job he done at Reading, but forget he inherited a decent chunk of the team from Pardew.
