  1. Fully understand and agree to a certain level, I think Tuchel compounded the situation and if he’d gone more positive he’d have less criticism. As England play best with high tempo and counter attacks, he should have made more use of the squad, especially with an extra round to consider.
  2. Although the focus will be on the Tuchel for his subs and overall game management, the players we have show the lack of quality in technical ability and nous. England had 12% possession after the goal, retreating deeper and deeper, which started before the defensive subs. not even counter attacking teams allow that amount of control from the opposition. The way to defend against a team as skilful as Argentina is to contest the game. England, as has been their sempiternal failing, simply don’t have enough quality players to hold on to the ball to start any counters or even seem to try to keep the ball for a moment. Moreover, compared to England, Argentina are better even at longball, every Argentinian cross seemed to find an Argentinian head, despite the fact that their players are nearly all far shorter than England's, Lautaro Martinez, who scored the winner is 5'8", and every England cross or longball hoof found an Argentinian head.
  3. Only 3 minutes added time first half. So should be about 6 with the subs this half.
  4. If only England were good at the press.
  5. You can tell what side Louise Taylor is on in this guardian article. I wonder if Spors has a back up plan, just in case, of bringing in a cover manager or are the current coaching staff expected to take on the head coach responsibilities. We still had to play Hull, so although the ultimate prize was worth 200m, it wasn’t guaranteed. The value generally used would be half. It does make you wonder if the FA are erring on a more lenient approach as the season is fast approaching and it would be easy to impose the same punishment as the Canadian coach.
  6. How do you get that? According to Forbes, he’s put his foot on the accelerator (and his family has as well) as his current net worth is estimated as $6.5 billion an increase of $4 billion since he returned to office.
  7. Usually the case doesn’t go to court as a settlement is reached as that seems the easiest and least expensive option, but the beeb are pressing ahead, so it’ll be interesting to see how Trump’s reputation was damaged. Financially he’s never been richer!
  8. QPR have also signed keeper Calum Ward from Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.
  9. Sure sure sure 😏
  10. From your experience do you think England should have moved sooner to Mexico City after the Congo match. I think they could’ve gone a day or perhaps two days earlier.
  11. That’s metres btw.
  12. Mexico have hosted the World Cup twice before, this third time is a record. Not sure how that’s cheating.
  13. FIFA imposed a ban in 2007 which lasted a year. FIFA also promised to look into altitude on player health. But never did. So yes, FIFA are twats.
  14. There are no devices that can replicate altitude conditions at sea level or prepare athletes for low oxygen levels. There was a small study in 2016 (frontiers of Physiology) which found heat acclimation for at least 10 days can improve tolerance and exercise performance at altitude.
  15. Nice to see England play as eleven individuals again.
  16. Possibly, but it’s hard to say when Managers come out of retirement like Hodgson, Warnock and Van Gaal to then take a job.
  17. Unemployed as well. As is Hasenhüttl… or a better way to put it, without a club.
  18. Rusk is currently unemployed.
  19. There is a whole world of AI which have agentic capabilities and AGI features beyond bots which use LLM to answer questions. The march to ASI is onward and SkyNet is around the corner, if we have enough energy. Doomed we are! Anyway, any transfer news?
  20. Luck of the draw in tournament (and cup) football. I’m sure the semi finals will have the nations that deserve to be there.
  21. Just turned on the tv for the footy for the first time this WC. Is pre match build up this shit now? Presenters are awful and just talking nonsense with Joe Public.
  22. He’s parted ways with Uruguay now the team hasn’t qualified for the knockout stage.
  23. Hopefully you have a good mix of old heads and youthful exuberance for a promotion challenge.
  24. I guess he’s had to climb up the leagues to get to a decent level where he’s tested, rather than being able to rise with a club.
  25. US fans showing the world how
