Gingeletiss Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 This just won't die will it........Mike, LC is a fan like you and I, how does that make him a 'hanger on'?????.........I suspect he has done more for the club than you or I, or in fact, many of the posters on here......just drop it!! Crouch has done good things

saintedwill Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 See the Leon and Lawrie sign has been removed from their old box. After the amount of cash LC put into the club to keep us afloat and the obvious achievements of Lawrie Mac, I think they're moving the sign from the box to stick it on a stand and name it after them. Glad you pointed that out and that you're in favour of the idea
70's Mike Posted 26 August, 2009 Author Share Posted 26 August, 2009 Sorry I was not implying Leon was a hanger on , in fact anyone who reads my posts would know, i was firmly in his camp. Just noticed the Box was no longer showing their names AND that there were very few people on the Saints side of the Directors Box.
krissyboy31 Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 Didn't Morph say that Crouch had decided not to re-new his two boxes this season? May have something to do with his Eastleigh sponsorship.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 Did they take the sign with them? LOL - absolutely love it - can't beat a bit of subversive comedy. Little one liners like that make it worth logging in.

May have something to do with his Eastleigh sponsorship. Perhaps he can't afford it or simply given up allegedly trying to buy an important role at the club. IMO I have never bought into the fact that he was giving his money solely for the love of the club but more like a business transaction or the kudos. Why? Because no matter how much he 'donated' or 'wanted to donate' we always seemed to get to know about it. Just my opinion of course but if Crouch and McMenemy have moved on then that is a big relief as much as Lowe and Wilde disappearing from our environs. Mike useful observations about these 'hangers on', thanks very much.

Amongst Crouch's many fine moments, his programme notes were right up there and we are always told McMenemy knew his onions.

Charlie Wayman Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 It was my understanding that ex-directors were now entitled to seats in the 'royal-box' so they don't need boxes of their own to sit in and not be seen. In any case they are no longer potential buyers so have nobody to impress or try to bring on board. Nor do Saints particularly need their money desperately. So many logical reasons for them to let the boxes go.

Junior Mullet Posted 26 August, 2009 Share Posted 26 August, 2009 More interesting that the rubbish above - Jaidi was there with his wife and young girl. He was in the second row and was talking and smiling at length with Cortesse at half time.
