Swindon Town - played 2 ineligible players in League Cup. Kicked out and Luton, whom they beat, took their place. Grimsby played an inelligible player vs Man United in thier famous win this season but were only fined. Punishments on this are inconsistent and looked at on a case by case basis and so I don't accept that what happened to Swindon was nailed on precedent for us. It simply isn't good precedent at all.

Reminded me of the time Henry handled the ball twice to keep it in play during a World Cup qualifier playoff vs the Irish. Did it in extra time if I recall properly and lead directly to the goal that knocekd the Irish out. Blatant cheating. Consequences were huge but nobody gave a fuck because it was France and it was only the Irish.

I like your optimism but there's no chance of us being reinstated. Not a hope in hell, sorry to say. Best we will get is a reducton of the 4 points next season which is why I think they threw that in.

Fair point. Not worth suing I guess. The club will be left to pick up the bills.

Tonda has done brilliantly for us and has been a breath of fresh air after a run of frustrating first team coaches. However, he must go. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. I expect Tonda and the team around him who knew about this will receive lengthy bans by the FA. I also exepct the club will set a team of lawyers on Tonda. It will be very messy for years to come. The legal issues here are huge. Feel sorry for fans of several clubs, the owners of Saints and everyone else caught up innocently in all of this. Bloody stupid.

Saints win by two goals. We will bounce back.

Damion Downs - Official: Loaned to Hamburg

I felt sorry for him. Looked really nervous getting ready to come on. Cant blame him for not being good enough for us. Not his fault the club went in for him based on some sort of potential they saw in him. There are non league players who would be a lot better for us. -
It does feel like we’re living through an ill-conceived experiment.

Don’t hold your breath. We are nowhere near insolvent.

Odds are out to 6/1 now. Must have been some big lumps being put up today by the fans of spurs and west ham.

As much as Russ needs to go, I don't have any faith in Sports Republic replacing him with better. I know most of you will say that anyone would be better but seriously, they are the pratts who gave us Jones. Jones was worse. It really is a crap situation. Don't know how it'll improve with Ankersen in his role.

I have nothing against Kat. She found herself in a position I don't think she expected nor was prepared for. She opted for the wrong people to run the club instead of Cortese because I think she saw Cortese's plan as financially more risky while the others presented a less risky option. She was more risk adverse than Markus. The way the club was run thereafter was not very good though and I have to respectfully disagree with you on that. Our momentum at the time of Poch and Cortese leaving allowed us to get a fantastic manager in Koeman which paved over the cracks. The longer-term damage however was already being done at the top levels. Let's be honest, this is a great theoretical debate. How would things have panned out with Markus and Cortese at the helm for several more years?
-
I honestly think we could have done a Leicester City if Markus and Cortese had been around longer. Markus and Cortese were that good a team. Yes we did well with Koeman, very well, but that was using the momentum of what had gone before. Once that momentum had gone Koeman left for Everton whom he saw as more ambitious at that time. Says a lot about how things dwindled under the new directors and Kat. It was such a shame Kat was swayed by Les and others rather than Cortese when push came to shove.

I have to agree. Recruitment has been absolutely diabolical. We have turned into one of those clubs who seems to buy random players without any consideration of how they will suit a system. For years we had a system and bought players to fit the system - it worked well and occasionally we were surprised by how well this worked (ie. not many people thought Bertrand would do as well for us as he did, but he was exactly what we needed). We scoffed at other clubs who collected players like they were opening panini packs. Specifically on Armstrong - it annoys me how weak his legs are. I want a striker who's strong enough to rifle shots in, not dribble them into the keepers arms each time. It's like watching a kid play.

In the same way people thought Boris coming back as PM would be a good idea after Liz Truss.

Jimmy Jay Morgan not to sign a pro contract at club!

Disappointed he didn't get a game when he's been running rings around our defenders in training. Could have made a real splash for himself if he was given the chance. -
This whole shambles reminds me of when Liz Truss was Prime Minister.
-
He will be gone soon. With the state of the squad it'll be an uphill struggle to stay up but worth a go. The club and squad don't even have faith in Jones' ability to manage us in the Championship, which was a factor in Jones joining us in the first place.

Sian is the best lino in the game for me. Cracking eye for the line. Shame she's on VAR duty, FFS.
-
For me this was the lowest point in our recent history since Koeman left. It was so embarrassing.
-
Mate, we would be doing the same but from slightly further back due to the layout of our ground. You can't blame their fans for trying to intimidate us.
-
Scored against the skates and for that reason alone will always be alright with me, unless he ever joins them but fat chance of that. He's a good player. I enjoy watching him.
-
Not working for me. Any others?
