Hatch Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 can you check history of sold items? I have something to sell and want to see how much it has sold for before , if at all?

hamster Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 (edited) Good link Pancake, Hope you don't mind me offering a way to do it in laymans' terms? Do your standard search ie "Raleigh Chopper". When the results appear, click on a category, in this case "Transportation". When the page re-loads scroll down. (1 x Page Down" should do it). You will see on the left hand side a section titled "Preferences" The second option here is "Show Only" which has 2 sub-categories, you need to show the second one named "Completed Listings". The page reloads with recent completed listings rather than current items. Note that you do need to be logged in to search completed listings and rememebr that the ones highlighted RED, did not sell! Another handy tip if a seller states that they will consider "OFFERS", is to view their "Other Items" and check that "completed listings" box, the lowest price that they will accept will be revealed to you, and there's nothing to lose by offering slightly less. hypochondriac Posted 28 October, 2009 Share Posted 28 October, 2009 Ebay is rubbish now tbh. Not sure how they can justify the massive increase in fees. I hope an alternative is setup.

Accept your point, but where else can someone reach such an audience when selling and find virtually anything on this planet for sale. Fees are steep for the work involved in running it, but nothing compares imo. I think that they should be made to split from PayPal but it'll never happen and I have noted too that they now have a finger in the Parcel2Go people. One day they will own the world.
