maxi_sopez Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 Basically i am coming down from London to watch the Norwich game next tuesday....but the issue is i have to go back to London that night as have nowhere to stay in Southampton and need to be back in London on wednesday....with it being a cup game there is the possibility of it going to extra time and pens... the last two trains to London are 10:30 and then 11:00....if it goes to pens or extra time what chance do you think i have of getting on one of them?! cheers for the help in advance Max
Matthew Le God Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 (edited) The JPT doesn't have extra time. It goes straight to penalties if a draw. So you will be fine to get to the station after the game. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=johnstone%27s+paint+trophy+ Edited 9 December, 2009 by Matthew Le God

SNSUN Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 Take the free bus from the station to save time - trying to get it after the match is tricky though, seems to be first come first served - and if you miss it, you've got to walk fast to get the train back! I usually get the train from/to Winchester as it's easier to park and commute - but am thinking about driving into Southampton for the Norwich game and the Exeter game. Any ideas on the best places to park? (Legally, I don't care how much parking is but I don't want a ticket!)

When I go and watch Saints as I have a ST we sometimes park down one of the roads down The Avenue and walk down or on the occasional evening we park in the Lime Street car park aswell if that helps SNSUN! But if this fails then have a look on the internet and I'm sure that you'l find somewhere to park aswell!

Cheers - yeah I've done some internet research and there are plenty of places to park just wondered which was the best. Might park at the uni and walk. I live in Chandlers Ford and traditionally I/we have parked at Bitterne station for free and walked from there, about 26 minutes to turnstile F. Now I've got my bus pass and if it's just me I get the number 1 Winchester - Southampton to the war memorial and it's 18 minutes walk from there. Buses are every 20 minutes weekdays and Saturdays before 6:00 pm. Every 30 minutes after or Sundays.
Massimo Osti Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 Don't park in industrial estate around Wilson st etc near the ground, I work round there and have to walk over the broken glass from the looted cars parked on the cheep near the stadium on my trip to the petrol station to get my Echo after every evening home game. That I wouldn't do. Walking from the ground after the Bristol Rovers game taught me that! Cheers guys, will wing it, don't want to steal spaces from the regulars!
