Southampton's Under 18 Premier League Academy side are on a great run of 5 league wins in a row at the moment, after initially having a poor start to the season!

They beat Arsenal under 18's 3-0 on Saturday.

The previous four academy games they beat Chelsea, West Ham, Charlton and Ipswich. Plus the FA Youth Cup 1st round win over Plymouth.

Jason Dodd is doing a great job. Of course it isn't the results that matter in youth football, it is the quality of the players produced, but we do have some future stars in the making! :D

This is not good news...............its GREAT news. Whilst Chelski and Arse attract youngstes from all over the world, we need to build our reputation as the best Academy for the best of UK talent. A place where the kids will get an opportunity to play, and get recognised. Thats why the OC getting the call to the England U18s is also so important to our development as a club.

Couldn't see a report on the OS (surprise, surprise!!) This on the Arsenal one http://www.arsenal.com/match-menu/3311413/youth/southampton-yth-v-arsenal-yth?tab=report Trouble is being in the third tier, if we produce excellent youngsters, we'll not be able to keep hold of them. Prem teams will come and cherry pick them.

Posted on there now.....
