sorry not seen anything in the other posts yet, just wanted to know if Markus' family were at the ground yesterday? surely they would of been touched by 31K saints fans singing his name.

Gutted I couldn't go but I'm pretty much stuck with away games. Looked like one hell of a party.

The was a guy just to the left of NC (the right as you look at him) who looked a lot like Marcus. I pointed it out to my mates at the time. We thought he might have been a relative. Also, there was a blonde in a suit skirt, at the time I thought it was his daughter. There were loads of kids up there as well.

I remember thinking, they must be touched by this celebration and how we are honouring Marcus. Then the loudest song came out of, "you dirty skate bastards, we're coming for you!".

I presumed they were all there. Herbie's report on the Saintslist says the trophy was passed to someone who looked so like Markus' it must have been his brother. All the people in the Directors box clapped when the fans sang Markus' name inc NC

So we don't really know if they were there or not ?

Now I hope I can make myself perfectly clear - if the Liebherr family prefer to keep a (ultra) low profile then that's entirely their business - all I'm saying is that it would be nice to know for sure that the owners of this great club took a real interest in it.

Posted on the promotion thread.........

Yes they were! I was stood right behind the exec area during the pitch invasion. They stayed and watched the whole thing with NC, NA and the players. The atmosphere and emotion down on the pitch in front of us was truly amazing. One Marcus liebherr chant at the end was superb and would have hit home. They all looked very happy and a bit shocked (in a good way) at what was happening in front of us.

Perfect atmosphere and pitch invasion.

My favourite moment- NC's son lifting the trophy and getting massive cheers from the crowd.

It's such a shame and so sad that the big man wasn't there to see it and be thanked by us all!

It was lovely seeing him at Wembley last year and seeing how it excited he was by it all, can imagine that he would have been joining in with all the celebrations yesterday, with the biggest grin of any of us on his face.

Thanks again big man.

Would anyone mind if cortese instead of putting runners up trophy in saints trophy cabinet passed it Markus' wife

Bit of a sh*t trophy to give someone tbf. Also not sure why she would want a lump of metal. Maybe a photo of the occasion would be more gratefully received.

Was this the lad who 'helped' present the trophy at the Ajax match ?

If so I thought that was Liebherr's grandson.

It is of course possible that they do take "a real interest in it " from a distance, balancing the long journey to Southampton from Switzerland with other business and family commitments. Sir Jack Hayward was the saviour of Wolves but monitored much of it from the Bahamas.
