Really interesting article about referees

I spent the last three years telling friends who supported Premier League clubs that they shouldn't be moaning too much about Refs as what we had in League 1 / Championship was worse.

After this season, I'm not so sure. I don't recall the Refereeing being this bad in our last few seasons before relegation from the Premier League. I think the game is too quick for them these days. The decision making seems to be getting worse and inconsistencies are far more frequent. Something has to change.

They really aren't as bad as the ones in League One.

But those games were along time ago. I believe his last Saints game was in the 2008/9 season when we drew 2-2 with Burnley which was a few days after the Dark Lord left with his train picture. A lot has happened with the Club since then. Having said that I thought he was poor in the first leg of the play-off game against Derby (1-2) in 2006/7 when he seemed to let howard get away with foul after foul without giving us any freekicks. Reading have had him twice this season 3-3 Fulham (95th min equaliser from reading) and 0-0 Swansea (disallowed a "handball goal" from adam LeF correctly imo)
