Raven on the wing Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 Well done on Saturday to McG for having the b*lls to take the vital penalty but did anyone see the picture in the echo during the week of Saints defending a free kick in training. David McG was pictured jumping with his arms above his head in exactly the same way as he gave a penalty away against Man Utd ( albeit the ball hit his head that day). Shouldnot training be to practise not making the same mistakes !!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 keep him out of the wall and the 1st team imo!
Legod Third Coming Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 keep him out of the wall and the 1st team imo! Groslly unfair, he was everywhere yesterday. A really good hard-working performance.
isking Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 'Old Bournemouth Saint' I don't know whether you have been at the last two games or just basing your opinion on some previous performances. DMG has been a revitalised player over the last two home performances. Playing at the front of a diamond his work rate has been immense and he has had 2 very good games. Why do we all slag off our players. The TEAM performance has been first class for the last two games.

docker-p Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 I got to agree with Bournemouth Saint. I have been to all the home games this season and have had the misfortune to watch DMG. The man is not CCC or even league One standard. I think his goal scoring recordd speaks for itself. He is marginally more useful in midfield, but still not up to it. Slow to react, little or no closing down in players, unable to create space. Total flop in an otherwise good team performance.
the scud Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 (edited) I agree with BS. You can't base McG on two games, (imo on saturday he wasn't that fantastic ) for the other 30 odd games is has been useless Edited 1 March, 2009 by the scud

Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 Bournemouth saints does not attend matches. haha skate boy! i've been to the last two games and been to 16 games this season home and away! "skate boy" duck off to the pompey forum where you belong!! to clarify my earlier post - im not a fan of McG. agree he's been better last couple of games, but still witness his moaning and think he is detremental to the other youngsters in our side.....just think he is not cut out for championship football and think he might be more useful as a squad player - not 1st team imo
Saint_clark Posted 1 March, 2009 Share Posted 1 March, 2009 McGoldrick has shown potential in every game this season and is actually starting to perform well. He has looked better for around a month now. Let's not forget he is still young.

Did you notice the runs he made when not on the ball? How he ran across their drefence to drwa defenders with him to make space for Saga and JE. A lot of these things go unnoticed, but add to our effectiveness.Take the blinkers off and you will see he will indeed become a very good player. He also had the balls to take the pen in front of a lot of fans who have been giving him stick. Our experienced players went into hiding when the pen was awarded.

Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 March, 2009 Share Posted 2 March, 2009 which makes you're first statement on DMG even more strange - surely you could clearly see the improvement to his game being moved into attacking midfield Like I said in an earlier post – Yes I accept he’s been better (last 2 games) but I base my opinion on the season so far not just 2 games. I don’t rate him and it will take more than 2 ok performances to change my mind. I especially don’t like his attitude – maybe because I’m conscious and watching for it, it annoys me more? I see him week after week lambasting passes and throwing little tantrums when a ball doesn’t go direct to him – yet his passes are generally poor! McGs biggest fan is him self and while I accept it took guts to take the penalty my opinion of him remains unchanged. Happy for him to prove me wrong between now and the end of the season! Legod Third Coming Posted 2 March, 2009 Share Posted 2 March, 2009 One thing he has to work on is shooting accuracy. According to the programme on Saturday he has had 94 shots this season... Blake has had 53 and scored 23 odd goals!!!
