hamster Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Have to agree. Used one the other day for a 3 mile, 15 minute journey and cost over £9! Driver was very chaty and polite towards the end of the journey (good timing). That works out at around £35 an hour, for doing something that most people do to GET to work, it really is not that hard surely? And before anyone says that he may have sat around for another half hour waiting for his next fare, I would say that's a pretty nice number then isn't it. Can't see my manager letting me sit on my arse listening to the radio, playing on my iphone, whilst waiting for work to come to me!

Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Why not become one then? Perhaps because he's not fat, bald or socially inadequate.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Perhaps because he's not fat, bald or socially inadequate. Do you need all three or can you excel in any one direction?
hamster Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Perhaps because he's not fat, bald or socially inadequate. The little amount of exceess weight will be coming off as I start my training for the big match. Neither am I bald.
hamster Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 Why not become one then? What, a lazy rip-ff merchant? My trouble is and always has been that I have a conscience.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 What, a lazy rip-ff merchant? My trouble is and always has been that I have a conscience. At least you have identified it as a weakness. It's a good first step.
Pancake Posted 9 March, 2009 Author Posted 9 March, 2009 Was charged £10.50 to go 2 mins up the road in Birmingham Saturday night. I believe that is called the "Cazy Lunt tax"
hamster Posted 9 March, 2009 Posted 9 March, 2009 I believe that is called the "Cazy Lunt tax" Ironic isn't it? Actually pancake, the penny has just dropped. How can I complain about said lunts being cazy, when they are merely cazy lunts driving an even cazier lunt around. I will never ever slag the lazy extortionists off again. In fact, next time I use one I will tell him/her (it is 2008 after all) what a good driver they are. Even though they are usually **** drivers.
