trousers Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 Same 11? (or 12 if counting Spiderman and Surman as one) A few tweaks? Wholesale changes? Bit of a dilemma if you ask me (which you didn't)
SaintRobbie Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 We need some consistency. I think we can beat QPR on Saturday but Wotte needs a consistent selection - men.
VectisSaint Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 Same team is the right approach, injuries/suspensions notwithstanding. Nearly always the best policy, the more the team play together the better they get to know each other's game.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 Same 11? (or 12 if counting Spiderman and Surman as one) A few tweaks? Wholesale changes? Bit of a dilemma if you ask me (which you didn't) Well Trousers FWIW I would like to see Wotte address our right side as the diamond shape gives us little width down the right and we end up with James's floaty in swinging crosses from around the half way line which are simply watched and dealt with by the opposing CB's. Secondly it has been good to see Surman and Skacel linking up well down the left but that didn't happen against Derby. I don't think we should drop Surman (poor performance last night) or Saga who also had an anonymous and tired looking game (surprising since he has probably played half the matches of some) but Wotte clealy needs to have a few words with both. My dilemma is what do we do with the right midfield slot. Lallana has not shown his promise this season IMO and at times has resembled a headless chicken and Schneirderlin has to play in the middle, at the moment probably as understudy to Gillett. Therefore do we try BWP who seems out of favour since his occupational hazard of getting into trouble with the police. So for the first time in a few games I think we do indeed have a dilemma worthy of your regular thread.
swannymere Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 Leave the team the same, making wholesale changes was the problem earlier in the season. Surman was average against Derby but he generally doesn't have a series of bad games in a row, and your assessment of Saga was a tad harsh, he wasn't awful and still made a nuisance of himself. Same again IMHO. Although i would agree that James needs to get further forward before crossing.
Amesbury Saint Posted 11 March, 2009 Share Posted 11 March, 2009 I think it would be a good time to bring in lots of youngsters. (only joking!)
