brightspark Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 Killing off the moneyless clubs by yet another way. Don't agree with him. And I think I wouldn't agree with him if I supported a club on the up either!!!
ShirleySaint Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 Killing off the moneyless clubs by yet another way. Don't agree with him. And I think I wouldn't agree with him if I supported a club on the up either!!! How can linking the TV deals between the Premier League and the football league kill off the "moneyless clubs"? Allowing the FL to piggy back on to the PL TV deals will see more money at a lower level in the game (That's why the PL won't agree with it). How can making the 'Solidarity' payment permanent kill off the "moneyless clubs"? Every time the PL TV deal is renegotiated the 'Solidarity' payment is under threat, if it is made permanent then the money is guaranteed. How can re-opening the transfer market kill off the "moneyless clubs"? If clubs need a quick injection of money then raising that by selling a player part way through the season, rather than waiting for the transfer window, has to be beneficial especially for the "moneyless clubs". How can 'greater security of registration for home produced players' kill off the "moneyless clubs"? If clubs can't poach young players because the registration process is tightened up then that means the less well off clubs will not lose players on the cheap. The9 Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 Seems reasonable, there are far more draconian measures in other major European footballing countries. The problem is still that for as long as there's a massive gap between Prem and FL incomes teams will be trying to buy their way into the top league and get themselves up sh1t creek in doing so, and no amount of FL legislation trying to ensure fairness and solvency will be able to stop that. stevegrant Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 The tax arrears idea is a sound one, but the idea of getting a joint TV deal with the Premier League is nonsense. One of the main reasons the Premier League was formed in the first place was so the top flight could negotiate its own television deal - they're hardly likely to hand that privilege back any time soon. South City Si Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 Re-opening the domestic transfer market outside of January & the summer is a good idea Not so sure, it allows the bigger clubs to snatch players whenever they like not just within 2 windows. The9 Posted 21 May, 2009 Share Posted 21 May, 2009 Not so sure, it allows the bigger clubs to snatch players whenever they like not just within 2 windows. We might have enough money to pay a wage bill with if we'd have been able to flog Dyer to Swansea in March. A little simplistic given the nature of BorInG 4 squad stockpiling at the moment and the fates of the likes of Steve Sidwell and Scott Parker (amongst others), but true nonetheless. We might also have shifted John/Rasiak/Skacel/Saga etc if they'd been saleable in the one or two weeks they initially looked good on loan, rather than displaying the full horror of their entire loan spells... Barry the Badger Posted 22 May, 2009 Share Posted 22 May, 2009 The trouble with the current administration laws is that they are supposed to punish clubs who try to 'cheat' their way to success by spending money they don't have. As far as the CCC goes, it only actually punishes the teams who try and fail, whereas those who manage to sneak into the prem off the back of it get away with it as the prem tv money saves them!
