Is the fundraising doing more harm than good?

We've been in administration for some time now, and i understand this isn't necessarily abnormal or should be of concern over and above the actual predicament, but could it be that interested parties need the club to reach the 59th minute of the 11th hour to get the deal THEY want on THEIR terms?

The more funds raised the longer Mark Fry has to get the best deal for the creditors and the longer he is kept in his lucrative work. I can see no reason why he'd want to get a deal done ASAP under these circumstances so inadvertantly the raising of funds could be doing more harm than good.

Correct.

The self aggrandising "some of us have a club to save" bucketeers are just getting in the way, as is Crouch.

The sooner we get to the eleventh hour brink, the sooner we get taken over. Crouch coming in paying the bills all the time just removes the urgency so any negotiator worth their salt will just drag it out for longer.

Why pile in when Ted Rogers is going to pay the wage bill anyway? Just wait another month.

Put the buckets away and lets get to the eleventh hour asap.

Am I right in thinking the longer it takes the more Fry gets? If so the creditors could be a lot worse off if they wait too long couldn't they.

Ordinarily yes, but with the fundraising capital injection it could be that the Creditors, who are ultimately pulling Frys strings, are not negatively affected and therefore are waiting for the donations/revenue streams to exhaust before swallowing an inevitably bitter pill.

The involvement of Marc Jackson is worry for me as i feel he's being used to artificially inflate the asking price. It seems however that the real bidders are wise to the situation hence the waiting game continues.

Me again!!! You loved that quote did n't you! I'm might charge you a pint everytime you use it!!!

For once I am agreement with some of what you say. I still whole heartedly agree with fundraising to save the club, something you see as a waste of time. But I do feel that there is no clear goal as what the fundraising is trying to achieve. I have said all along, including to David Luker that the fundraising needed to be co ordinated and driven but instead we have formed several splinter groups that are all raising money but with no idea of what the money is being used for or how long it will save us.

So bring on the 11th hour - set the deadline and play the odds - if it does go against us we start again, otherwise we find a buyer. The whole thing is a complicated mess from a business point of view, with bits of the business in admin, bits not. We need an outcome and soon.

... by the way I let the other thread die as I quite simply have had enough of all the apathy and negativity and the bickering, .... but to clear up one point I do not see why you always feel that I feel that I care more than other people (as was the case as well on the Poppy thread). Sometimes I let my heart rule my head with what I write and I appreciate that some of my views are quite blunt and Forthright but I find the apathy that has spread over this club so soul destroying. The loss of the clubs roots and heritage is a real concern. As I have said before one of the things I have stood by is that there is always someone who knows more than you on any given subject and you can always learn something new so not quite sure how that gets to you thinking that I always go for the care more/know more line as you could n't be further from the truth.

To be fair I havn't the slightest clue what's going on behind the scenes, but it does seem that this fundraising is a bit pointless.

It made sense when it was "chuck a tenner in the bucket so we make the end of the season", that has come and gone and all we will ever do now is line Fry's pocket. You would have to assume that if someone wanted to buy SFC they would be in talks now.
