Seemed a standard bouncer, must of hit him badly in the wrong place. Hope he pulls through ok!

Must have ducked into it surely though, how else could it hit him on the back of the head under the helmet. Never turn your back on a bouncer

RIP Phillip Hughes. Very talented player (first Aussie to hit a 100 on ODI debut & youngest player to score two century's in a single test). Such a tragic freak accident.

Thoughts with his family and friends but also to his mate Sean Abbott, the bowler who did nothing wrong but will have this with him for the rest of his life.

Very sad news indeed, an extremely talented cricketer with most of his career in front of him. Thoughts with his family and to Sean Abbott who must be devastated.

:(

i think you are right.... started off like a house on fire... got found out... but most likely had the the majority of his test career in front of him as he tried to reinvent himself....

he was actually such a nice bloke too if you look at all the interviews he did... everyone here in australia is totally just shocked by it all... apparently an injury that there has only ever been 100 cases ever .

didnt know the guy but totally gutted.

sean abbot had been playing in the aussie 20/20 team and one day teams of late too... not sure how it will affect him but he's not coping at the moment which you can understand.

saying that, i hope the test series against india goes ahead next thursday though not sure seeing some of the footage any of the players will be in the right frame of mind...

rip Hughesy
