I taken to taking my nippers DS on my monthly trips to Italy.

Are there any decent "grown up" games for it?

Aside from Brain Training I can't really think of any! The best thing to do is to embrace your inner child and get Mario Brothers and any other platform games. The Zelda game is good also.

And if you like sport sims, NFL Madden is alright and Top Spin is a decent tennis sim.

If you like strategy games then Advance Wars is very good.

Pheonix Wright games are quite good, and not aimed at kids.

I've got a Pheonix Wright game - very good indeed.

Also got The World Ends With You that is good but have also just bought Bangai-O Spirits. An R-Type/Xenon game.

Not much use "on the move", though, I'd have thought :D

Mario Kart is probably the main example I can think of, if I remember rightly there are a few crossword/Sudoku-type puzzle games available as well.

Guitar Hero.

That would make you look uber cool on the train. Much like the DS itself.

Super Mario Brothers is just great as the other poster mentioned. Just make sure you take headphones with you to avoid the "Axe in the head from the annoyed passenger behind you on the plane" syndrome.
