  1. He has spouted this in the Echo https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24317722.southampton-ceo-speaks-defence-owners-sport-republic/?ref=socialflow&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR15nP9qV5u7bOq2kwq_felJHxMAPm7lgqKBZpCdQbMmnMlTq5_zD9dCQU8_aem_AWDTlHP48RhWLRP6pJZ6vFLGVuYZbK0QPaf4rPOz5N-_AJEqIrAVzfVub8y947smiQ2BGKW-HFOtjD_3Xt-oB8kf Obviously wasn’t aware of the comment towards the end of last season that Dragan, who had taken a bit of a back seat, was taking greater interest again after his money people had flagged up the rate with which Saints were burning through his cash. We’ve all seen stories about big lotto winners blowing the whole lot in a short amount of time, and having nothing to show for it when the pot has run dry.
  2. Most likely, as he would probably be rather static on the line in his current state.
  3. I remember that African lad we had, Mayuka (?) sat behind me in the stand at a pre season game in Spain with Maya and “Box head” Jos - he was often asking Maya sat next to him what was going on, on the pitch. I just wonder if Mara is of a similar mould, where he knows what to do in his own world, but doesn’t quite know what everyone else is doing around him and whilst he is working it out for himself he is mostly a step or two off the pace of the game. Watching yesterday, a good way into the first half, I wondered who the Saints player was moving to the ball, the commentator says “Mara” - thank you, I’d forgotten he was on the pitch!! There must be academy boys watching and thinking “what do I have to do??!!”.
  4. For those hoping for an update, my front 9 was a bit grim, but second half, despite cramp - having not played since October, I dug deep to play less shit. Didn’t rain on us so that’s a bit of a result. No surprise to see the scoreline supping a beer on the 19th. Having hung up my season ticket at the end of last season, after 45 years of moving heaven and earth to get down the Saints, this lot have made my Cold Turkey sooooo easy! 😢😢😢
  5. On the upside, there may be some scores left unsettled from the skirmish after the final whistle up at Stoke and there’s some windmilling handbags, pushing and shoving nonsense to spice things up. Pretty sure Captain Jack can stoke up some needle (no pun intended).
  6. I missed much of the first half due to finishing work in Oswestry at 6pm - but driving home listening to Radio 5 they were talking about both of last nights games. When discussing ours they had what sounded like a press conference clip of Maresca talking about liking the way we play and can see a plan we execute well - as the game went on, thinking back on that, I thought "yes - and you have worked out a way of counteracting it". Aside from thinking the players have resigned themselves to the play-offs, I don't think their fitness is where it should be.
  7. Fat chance of those 4 getting anymore of a feel of the pitch - aside from the warm up and at half time - thats if they even get picked. Glad I have been invited to go and play golf on Saturday - at least I can influence how shit I play.
  8. Probably to an empty stadium like last season
  9. Ha-ha - hot knife through butt……..nothing
  10. Just got home for work first thing I saw was the ref “oh great we get nothing off Madley”. Oh look Leicester have scored Hartley a surprise
  11. Part of VAR is to correct clear and obvious errors, yes I know corners and throw-ins being reviewed would make games last days, but that penalty review and outcome, to me, shows how flawed the whole thing is.
