  1. It's the hope that kills you! I had accepted regulation weeks ago, and now they fcuk with me 💀
  2. In Ireland, near Dublin and get to about 5 games a year - getting a lot more expensive and much longer (airport delays etc.). All most impossible to do it in a day now, since Flybe stopped operating from Southampton
  3. Not that I agree but the rational is that a full bottle with a top when thrown at players/fans will do more harm than one without (as some/most of the water will leave the bottle prior to impact and thus cause less injury). Safety rules gone mad like some many other rules
  4. Agree with this mostly. I am fairly sure it's not a leveraged buy out (they want to build a multi club model and you don't do that by leveraged buy out) and I 'm sure it was reported at the time of take over as well. I will freely admit I do not know the details or have insider info, but it would not make sense. What SR are doing IMHO is investing for a mid/longer term investment, in that they are willing to invest now to get a return over time, maybe 5 to 10 years and not in one season. At the time of the purchase it was said that the price was low at £100M as they were also taking on the debt and looking to pay it off immediately. If I remember correctly the structure of the loan meant SR could not repay it immediately (or it had no financial benefit to do so) and are stuck with 7 years repayment. Ok it might mean they pay more interest but also have more investment funds - so speculate to accumulate - how most business work. They will certainly look to get a return on their investment but maybe over a longer period. If SR did not have investment funds they would not be looking buy more clubs. BTW I think Gao had the same idea but the rug was pulled under his feet by the Chinese government.
  5. Maybe. I really like Rom and on his day he is awesome, however Casey lifted the whole team and protected the younger players. He was my best L McM signing and had a massive influence on us (appreciate the Bally remarks and others such as Nichol as a player etc.). He was the midfield maestro that pulled all the strings.
  6. We need a modern day Jimmy Case (in addition to the youngsters) - he single handedly transformed us - for those old enough to remember.
  7. 1976 for me. Remember being dragged along to an FA cup game against Villa where Hugh Fisher equalised in the final moments of the game - hooked ever since - what a first season 🤩
  8. Guessing he might be one of the one's Ralph was complaining about letting contract run down and going for free? Stephen's hasn't been a regular for some time and might feel he is better off getting a starting place elsewhere. Agent's probably been tapped up by another club and would get a big signing on fee. Difficult one - could he be a regular starter here - maybe? (guaranteed - definitely not). Would be Ralph/club MO to leave out a player refusing to sign a new contract unless we absolutely had to use them (same situation with FF I reckon).
  9. It doesn't matter if it is accidental or didn't connect - it's the intent that is supposed to be punished and once again the "top 6" advantage comes into play. Also, agree nearly 5 MU players are off side by a mile and VAR take time to review but fail to see it from MU's advantage. Completely agree - other way around and we are a man down and losing the game - where is that poster (and yes I know who he is) that claims there is no top 4/6 advantage?
  10. Why doesn't Ralph just stick to managing the team and showing results on the pitch? All of his latest comments/gripes about Broja (how well he is doing, us negotiating with Chelsea, his parents wanting to play for us), comments about trying to bring other players on Livra type deal, retiring in 2024, now comments about him being sick to his stomach about players running down their contracts (hello - what have we just done lately with Livra etc.) are really not helping us and more to the point are so unnecessary - does he really believe he will influence anyone significant (and if he's trying to appease the fans, then I for one am not impressed). Of late he has done well on the field and got us playing well and fingers crossed we will be comfortably out of trouble so well done to him for that. However, why change the view of the footballing world that we are a nice friendly family club, who most people quite like or at least don't see as knobs?
  11. Exactly my point - thank you. I am ignoring MLG's response to yours as there is no point in arguing for the sake of it. It's a bit like saying there's no point in diving, but when you lose out so much eventually you have "to join the club" to even out the odds even if you (and certainly I do) disagree with it.
  12. This place is all about opinions so fair do's you're perfectly entitled to yours's. Mine is there is no coincidence between big club (manager and players) "screaming blue murder" and getting the "right decision". VAR is in use today with the Liverpool game - did not even refer two contentious decisions, never mind the outcome. Regardless of the outcome - I want our players to at least seem as they care and "die for the cause".
  13. I would suggest what else you can ask for is fielding a decent team to start with. Ralph got away with that but we went to extra time so did it really achieve what he was trying to do?
