  1. Let’s hope that’s not significant.
  2. At least the ball is up the right end.
  3. Please don’t fanny about at the back. Just don’t.
  4. On hearing this news I’d settle for a goalless draw today. The big question is whether Che is going to be fit for Friday.
  5. I developed unilateral tinnitus some twenty years ago and now I just have to live with it. Mine was caused by using a PC monitor that was too low for me meaning that my neck erector muscles were in constant tension. Over time the nerve signals through the dorsal cochlear nucleus got mixed with the auditory ones and I am constantly hearing the nerve commands as sounds. It won’t kill me and I have to live with it but I would love to hear some silence so anything that can be done to preserve hearing is to be encouraged.
  6. Exactly. With a population growth of around 1% a year annual GDP growth needs to be at least that just to stand still (per capita).
  7. I’ve just spoken to my daughter. She said that the vivid colours were only apparent in her phone and were much less intense to the naked eye. She had to set her phone camera to night vision. There is a chance that they will be back again tonight.
  8. They are not normally easy to photograph and you typically need a tripod and fifteen to thirty seconds of exposure. It’s strange to think that they are probably happening above us right now but are washed out by the daylight.
  9. This is a pale impression of what I saw in Norway on 19th March. Not easy to photograph from a moving ship in sub-zero temperatures on an Android phone. What I saw with my eyes was very impressive. Great hanging curtains of shimmering green light which the phone tries to override. I later looked up the correct settings but we didn't see them again.
  10. It's the Day of the Triffids all over again. It turns out that she rang me but I missed them. I think I was putting the bins out. This was about 9pm and I didn't notice anything. I think she had seen a forecast. This was in Chandlers Ford and shee lives only 200 yards from me.
