  1. No chance. Club briefed their usual channels pretty early on in the summer that they had moved on from Broja. He’s clearly West Ham’s target now and has been pushing for it himself. The price is beyond already the 20m you’re talking about and if Chelsea wanted us to up the price then we’d be mentioned in the briefings to the press but we’re not. Colwill we’re clearly in for although I have a hunch we’ll lose out to Palace on that one mainly because Salisu is probably in the way here and he’ll get into the Palace team quicker but hopefully I’m wrong. I would keep an ear out for any Harvey Vale news though. Little loan deal might be good for everyone there.
  2. They have literally told you it won't be at almost every opportunity. Old chap.
  3. KWP versatility is what stands him out against many other full backs and will be a part of what gets him a big move, so I think the idea that Ralph has unsettled him is laughable. He’s literally settled him into the PL, improved him, added strings to his bow and let him flourish. But yeah, KWP probably walks around cursing him for the few weeks he didn’t play him at the start of last season and then making him play left back to get him back in the team. Dear god. If/when he leaves it could just be that it’s part of the business mode and a good move for all concerned. You’re all going to have to get used to that at some stage btw. Better start trying now.
  4. Really? Bigger club, bigger platform and therefore a bigger ceiling. He'll back himself to be good enough to make the step up in 3 years at Chelsea, if it doesn't happen he'll be just as relevant as Tino, Colwill, Lampety etc etc and back himself to be good enough to get a similar move that they all did. if he stayed here and got himself in the first team in say 2 years? Okay he's made a name for himself a little earlier but he's also needing Chelsea or whoever to pay out much bigger money for him and he's just one of many kids in the world. He's got his move to the big club early and can make his move on his own terms and from within. Presuming he and his advisors believe in his ability and they're not just cashing in now, then I see it as a pretty ideal move and relatively risk free (injuries etc aside).
  5. You’re the one lying about how much you’ve watched or you’re the one who seems to form and express opinions on something that you have watched only 30 minutes of. Either way, stop being weird.
  6. Nope. You stated you were finding it difficult not having an opinion because it was being rammed down your throat. My advice was to stop engaging with it and you’ll find yourself not having an opinion. Stop clicking on this thread, stop typing out your opinion and stop clicking ‘reply’. You clearly have this level of self control because despite it being rammed down your throat you have only watched 30 minutes of it. Extend that self control to not having an opinion, you’ll feel better for it. Well done on all your coaching, playing and viewing achievements that nobody asked about by the way. If you could kindly stop ramming it down our throats though please, I’ll be forced to have an opinion otherwise, despite not giving a shit.
  7. 6 posts. 3 different days, you started and ended Sunday in the thread with posts in the morning and evening. So yeah, you keep coming back. For someone who has watched 30 minutes of the whole thing, you seem to have both avoided it being "rammed down your throat" and yet formed some pretty strong opinions. Maybe, just maybe, give it a miss, the games, the discussions, the viral clips, the BBC Womens Euro 22 section, the yank who isn't involved in the tournament. If you stop engaging in it, you'll have a lot less opinions, look a lot less silly in a thread specifically for it and feel a lot less sorry for people who don't really care for your concerns.
  8. Intrigued to know why the continued speculation about this guy signing by the way? Has there been a change of mind since Broja said he's clear goodbye message and Saints briefed everyone they had said thank you and moved on?
  9. Yeah the more I think about it Bertrand was just as big as a threat or maybe bigger. But his threat came because of who he had in the box as well. Not sure any of our strikers are particularly suited to attacking crosses really, especially not last season. Think they're all better at creating chances with the ball into their feet around the box. But like I say, good to have both options, especially if we sign a striker with a different profile.
  10. You might lose a threat of a cross but it opens up the threat of a shot. KWP cutting inside was a bigger threat than any left back we’ve had in a while whipping in crosses, especially when none of our strikers are particularly adept at attacking crosses. He’s also got the ability to dictate play from the inside too. Nice to have the option to change it up depending on the opposition.
  11. They have a fair few attacking midfielders like Aribo in fairness. Not sure it's a position they need to strengthen.
  12. Well done Einstein, they've only been telling you this since the start of last season. Keep your tweets to Twitter, you don't need to tell us this.
  13. Aribo is good, always been a fan and always believed he'd be suitable in the 2 behind the strikers for us. He has the qualities to do that role, power, good feet, direct. He'll be in the PL soon somewhere.
  14. I have absolutely no issue is losing 16 year olds if they’re being offered that kind of money as a basic salary. Assuming he’s not on the verge of the first team, if we competed with that it would set a bad precedent. Edit: Pretty sure there is a cap on wages at 16 actually so would assume that offer is from when they are 17.
  15. Very Morgan Schneiderlin like performance. Tidy and in control without breaking a sweat.
  16. I’ve no doubt that if any top club or manager inherited JWP they would love him and use him accordingly. No doubt about that at all. I’ve also no doubt that none of them would sign him, especially not at that price. If his contract was running down and he wanted to leave then they might be able to find the value in signing him, but no chance now. Much better value players can be found for someone who isn’t going to improve their first 11. Phillips suits City better and is a different type of player anyway but you’ve also got Tielemans, Bellingham next season probably, Rice is younger and the same length of contract so there’s value in waiting for him and many others .
  17. I would be utterly shocked if anyone paid that much for JWP. He's good, a key player for us, but not that good. He's not getting into any of the top teams in this country. Arsenal and United? Maybe he'd get in those teams but there's not a chance either of them pay that money for him, there's much better value elsewhere. Newcastle the only team he'd definitely get into that could pay that money and there's no evidence to suggest that's a proper step up and nor any evidence to suggest they would spend that money on one player either. It's also a massive risk for him to leave with a World Cup coming up. People might think he needs a move to get in the squad but actually finding himself on the bench of a bigger club will stuff him up even more than playing in a poor Saints team.
  18. The absolute desperation to sign players from a team that was regularly struggling over the last few years and eventually ended up relegated is bizarre. If we go down this year and PL teams came in for any of our experienced players after our struggles they would be ridiculed massively on here. But nope, Tarkowski and Mee are the answer.
  19. You’re not being tricked. It might not be unique but none of you are being tricked. You could be more educated about the different games yes. You’ve said that yourself when you said you don’t have time to work out what games are on each week. Fine, but that’s not the BBC’s fault and when they put a headline stating Chelsea thrash United or whatever it was that so brilliantly duped you, it’s not some deceptive trickery on their part that has you believing that could be the version of the game you’re so interested in despite not knowing that isn’t a fixture in the mens game that week. Anyway this is going round in circles and you’re clearly set in your ways and beliefs which is why you want things spelled out for you like they were before and you don’t like the idea of change or the womens game growing to the extent that it dares to try and engage with you. Hopefully one day you realise it’s your issue and not the fact that Womens football and in this instance the BBC are just trying to have it on a level footing with mens football or even if you can’t comprehend that maybe, just maybe, they’re trying to tell you that Chelsea thrashed United one week. Would be hilarious to see the outrage if every mens football headline clearly stated it was mens football by the way, even for a day people like you would be frothing at the mouth. I haven’t even pointed out that pretty much every BBC sport headline nowadays is accompanied with a picture either but why let facts and common sense get in the way of a good old fashioned meltdown on an internet message board.
  20. You’re not being tricked, you’re just not educated enough to decipher the difference. That’s not them tricking you, it’s you being ignorant. Which is fine by the way, you don’t have to be aware of womens football fixtures/players and nor do you have to be aware of mens fixtures and players either but the consequences of not knowing/being actively engaged in these things is you may not be able to skip over things which you’re not interested in. That’s on you though and not because they are deliberately tricking you.
  21. Again, there’s nothing misleading about the headline stating a football score unless you click on it and it’s not that score. They have spent all week building up the games that are on that weekend, men and womens, and you have decided/not been able to engage in that but they can’t be held responsible for your pre determined belief that the mens game is the only possible thing that that headline can be about.
  22. Unless they’ve played the same day you will know it’s not the mens game though? They aren’t being ambiguous, they’re stating a headline just as they would if it was the mens game. Again, you clicking on it believing it to be for the mens game is down to you, not them. They’re certainly not being ambiguous if they’ve spent all week forcing it down your throat telling you the fixture is going to be played as everyone seems to be saying on here and then they tell you the result. If you really need everything sign posted with clear headlines stating ‘WOMENS GAME ALERT’ then my suggestion is you need educating in both forms of the game and that you aren’t taking in any of the coverage they’re forcing on you constantly.
  23. Just on this, because the rest of the chat is utter drivel, you say ‘it wasn’t until you clicked on it that you knew it was a woman player’ but that’s more of a reflection on your ignorance and lack of knowledge regarding the mens game as well as the womens game. For a start Kadeisha is a womans name. Secondly, she’s a top player in the woman’s game and thirdly even if you aren’t aware of the first two facts, you have to have a serious lack of mens football knowledge to be completely unaware of anyone Chelsea sign, not least because they rarely sign completely unknown players but also they rarely sign someone so out of the blue that you wouldn’t have been able to miss the speculation of it up to this point. So clicking on that because you didn’t know who the person was isn’t catching you out deciptively at all, it’s just showing you up for a lack of knowledge and how easily influenced by click bait headlines you are.
  24. Lad at Roma called Persson too potentially.
  25. I think he just double posted.
