It's clearly this FWIW. Mings is calling for it, you can see the linesman consider putting his flag up when Ings collects it too but decides to see how the move pans out.

The reaction in this thread already, mainly from MLG, really does highlight how weird it is seeing fully grown adults who neither know the player or what the club/manager is thinking tell them both what they should be doing. Very bizarre behaviour really and yes, I'm probably just as guilty of doing it myself but I read this story and have a real urge to just let both parties sort it out rather than spout opinions about how he should have played last week or should be going out on loan and shouldn't worry about not getting games for another 4 years (Which is an utterly nonsense opinion by the way, 19 year olds should want to play).

Not happening. Relax.

He's nowhere near as good as some people on here think he is, and having watched him coming on as a sub at Reading a few times, I can assure you he's not an ideal sub at all. The sooner he gets a permanent move the better for him.

Why do you need transparency? As I said, it makes no difference to you, me or our fan base at all. The clubs involved and the FA would have had those meetings. It's quite clear the outcome of those meetings is we'll give Shrewsbury the chance to be in a position to have a squad by the weekend and if they don't it'll be called off, which is perfectly reasonable. I don't understand why people are concerned or particularly care. It'll sort itself out. The nature of the issue doesn't lend itself to a quick decision so have some patience and let them figure out what can and can't be played.
-
Why? Why does it bother you? Literally, name one difference it makes to you? As for Saints, it makes barely any difference to them either. They'll get a few days notice to prepare for a game they've already prepped for to be played at the same time as another game. The club will know by Sunday/Monday which is when they'll turn their attention to Leeds/Shrewsbury anyway so there's no difference to our recovery or training program either. In the grand scheme of things actually I think it'll turn out to be one of the more simple fixture changes. If there was fans involved then yeah it would be farcical, but there isn't and so they can leave things until later in the day and be flexible. There's nothing ridiculous or farcical about it.

Suspect (and could well be proved wrong tomorrow) that The FA will not be announcing anything until the weekend at least. If Shrewsbury can get a fit squad and some negative tests in by the weekend then the tie will be on, if not I suspect we'll get a bye and the Leeds game will stand. We're not dealing with fans here so announcements can be left late and I imagine all clubs will be kept in the loop and will know the score.

It's also the most flexible though.

Shrewsbury next week then and Leeds game postponed.

Have we been unlucky with ref/VAR decisions in the previous 4 games.

lol it's alright mate, we don't want to drink with you either. Especially as the game so spoiled presumably you wouldn't be watching it anyway? -

Not quite true. Due to handball rule change part of your arm can be offside. Bamford had a goal ruled out for this as an example. -

Just FYI it's the broadcaster that decides what is shown and Amazon decide not to show the lines being drawn. VAR process doesn't change, what you are being shown by the broadcaster does. Amazon have followed UEFA in not showing the process unlike Sky and BT who decide to show the lines being drawn. Personal opinion is it's better without seeing the lines being drawn anyway. That said, VAR do not have to draw the lines if it's obviously offside, which it was imo. -
It's not quite as simple as changing it and every thing is OK. The downsides to defending deep are problematic as well. You allow the attackers, for example Soucek the ability to run onto the ball while being unable to get leverage yourself and the point of contact with the ball is closer to goal. Also means the keeper has less space to work in. They will have their reasons for defending high and will feel the issues described by yourself are easier to counteract than defending deeper.

Don't think the regression in goals is too much of a shock tbh. We've been out scoring our XG all season, set pieces and quality strikes etc. Tie that in with teams not opening up against us and you get this. Think the next 3 PL games will suit us a lot more tbh. 3 teams who will come at us in their own way and will allow us to go back to being a bit more chaotic going forward rather than having to be precise. Doesn't mean the points will pick up, just means we'll create and score more.

In fairness to the box it shouts the two closest moments we came to scoring yesterday were from crosses. Ings header and chance from Tella's cross in the second half. Doesn't have to be lumped into Walcott and Tella for crosses to create opportunities. Did feel we could have been a little more direct towards the end but it's a fine line between doing that, getting nowhere and regretting trying to force it too much.

Has he touched the ball?

Hi Brandon...so far this season every game bar one we've played the same full backs. When we did get a problem we had to stick a CB at left back. We'd really like the option to rest one or both of them at some stage, especially in January after a heavy Xmas period. Not only would you be a valued squad member for two positions unlike your position now where you're not even the first choice back up in either role but you'd come in and likely to given an opportunity pretty quickly. Our manager is pretty insistent that if you come in and do well you'll keep playing, you only need to look at Romeu and Walcott currently in our squad. We've also been after you for a while now because we really like you.
-
Nope. Williams is seen as excellent cover and pressure for both full back positions.

Have people heard anything about City yet at all?

Person who thinks football should be an escape and not political beliefs decides to create a new account on a football forum to spout off about political beliefs. Whatever you think of the organisation and even the gesture, booing it and defending people who boo it is idiotic at the very least.

Lol. What nonsense.

Offering Long a new 2 year contract - Mistake?
Fabrice29 replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
Some short memories here. Might not be an amazing player but at the time of the contract and times last year when Adams wasn't firing he was forming a pretty good partnership with Ings which allowed Ings to prosper. Adams took his chance when he got it again and we haven't looked back but the reason the contract happened was because he earn't it through his contributions. -
Apology accepted btw. Don't know why you were so precious anyway, wasn't blaming you hun.
