Delighted to hear that. Really hope it doesn't turn out the reason they stopped going was actually because of the company they kept...🤞 On a serious note, why do you resent the rainbow saints so much?
-
Why don't you do something?

Being annoyed that we don’t have fans / try to actively keep and attract the fans who would happily take a swing at someone because of a shirt they are wearing is really weird 😂 Fair enough it’s stupid that they’ve managed to get in/not been spotted when they’re in a shirt but I sat next to a lad who came on his own and who was actively talking about how he was a United fan and it’s much more enjoyable engaging with him about the game than it would have been frothing at the mouth with anger, taking sneaky pictures of him, thinking about how to get him kicked out and swinging at him. If you’re really desperate to have the days of a hostile atmosphere back then actively pursue it and see if it catches on. No point moaning about how the club isn’t catering for your old mates anymore, get them back, create the atmosphere yourselves and make it what you want it to be.

What was made clear at the fans forum was that he wasn’t going to Everton on loan. That’s what was said, so that’s what was made clear. What has been made clear today is that he isn’t being sold this summer, because that’s what was said. In-between those two statements 2 things have changed, firstly our formation and secondly his form. He’s back in the plans now and that’s great for all concerned at this stage but let’s not rewrite history. He didn’t play great in pre season and hardly has a backlog of goals to rely on and therefore whilst he was out of the team he/his agent/the club/Everton all explored the possibility of a deal that could be done that would suit everyone. A loan was ruled out, Everton didn’t commit to a permanent deal and he upped his game and is back in the team. Hence we’ve changed our tune. Lets not act like it’s been clear all along he was staying because that simply isn’t true. There’s no commitment to a long term deal yet, I’m sure that is a fluid situation based on his form and I wouldn’t be surprised if come January he’s out the team again that a deal might be looked at again.
-
If Simeu is going out on loan I’d be surprised if they cup tied him as it makes him slightly less appealing.
-
McCarthy, Valery, Lyanco, Salisu, KWP, S Armstrong, JWP, Diallo, Moi, Mara, Armstrong. Get the game won then give the kids a run out if possible in the second half.
-
Wolves literally have just signed a striker. They aren't going big on another one.
-
I hate to break it to you but potential new players are not watching Ralph's pre match press conference or the fans forum.
-
With Rice and Bellingham likely on the move next summer, I'd be utterly shocked if any champions league club signed JWP this or next summer.
-
If he was getting a new deal he'd have a squad number. In the last year of his contract now and with everything going the way it has been (Contract, U18 games only, wanting a chance in pre season and not getting one, no squad number) there is 100% a deal to be done somewhere and it screams the sort of signing we would be all over like a rash. If we don't get him, I'm convinced it won't be through the lack of trying.
-
And if I’m Southampton I’m on the phone to Harvey Vales representatives first thing tomorrow morning saying ‘see, no squad number and new players being targeted in your position…come play here’. That rumour will be outed as nonsense pretty quickly this week so I’d be onto Vale ASAP.

Not sure it's a reliable source by the way. Anyway, he assisted the first goal against us 2 weeks ago.

This is all fair and it's a game of opinions isn't it, I'm just trying to see it from the people inside the clubs view and take a wider look at it. His value to us right now is pretty big on paper in our minds as fans but taking a factual look at it, he's not in the team, when he has been, he's not scored enough (despite looking like he could/should) and long term wise he's not looking like much value to the club (in terms of goals or signing a new contract). I'm not convinced we'd need two strikers personally, one really good one would be fine. If the funds we got from Adams allowed us to get a better target rather than two decent ones I'd be okay with that. The new guy with Armstrong and Mara and Aribo (whether you like it or not, his versatility is a big reason why we signed him and he's played there before). But I'm well aware that is a huge "if". Oh and as for that Jacob Treswell tweet about Adams to Everton on loan, don't wet yourselves just yet, there's 4 caveats in the tweet alone and it also clearly says with a buy so sounds like we'd want any money guaranteed.

Let’s not rewrite history here with Adams. I like him, there’s a genuine debate to be had he’s our current best option as a striker but it’s not exactly a thriving pool to choose from. We’ve complained since the day he’s been here about his lack of goals. PL striker - yes but hardly prolific. There’s a reason we’ve all been desperately wanting a new striker. International striker - Yes but hardly a big pool to choose from and there’s many Scottish fans who’d prefer Championship striker Dykes over him. Signed for 15 million - Yes but with 2 years left on his contract his value is only going down now. Without signing a new contract, this is the best summer for us to sell value wise. I like the guy btw, and like I say, there’s a genuine debate to be had he’s our best striker right now but if he’s not signing a new contract, the manager doesn’t trust him and (this is the most important) we are signing a new striker then I’m not adverse to saying thank you and goodbye. Of course his value to us right now is important but in the wider context of a good striker at this level, he’s occasionally reaching those heights but nowhere near enough.
-
Point of the statement is to hammer home that the deal wont be done until the Colwill deal is done.
-
In fairness Cucurella has just signed a new contract, his underlying creation stats were very impressive and he is equally as versatile (just not in the same positions as KWP). 35m is about right for KWP and if he wants to go we should let it happen and back our set up to replace him accordingly. Value wise, KWP’s price is only going down after this summer unless he signs a new contract. If he doesn’t fancy it however then wonderful but I suspect, as most footballers do, he’ll back himself to make a success of it (if it’s a genuine offer).

Not enough praise for Moussa who was once again excellent and has probably been our best player in pre season.
-
We'll have a new full back option by the end of the week.
-
Southampton Stream Passes: Buy Now - Watford FC Unlikely to be streams I'd say but it's possible.
-
Nope. I'm sure MLG's post was well researched and he'll provide it shortly. Was just pointing out the stats of the closest possible example we could have of Ralph's selections at Saints.
-
FWIW 4 players who started last seasons friendly two weeks before the Everton game started the Everton game.
-
No chance. Club briefed their usual channels pretty early on in the summer that they had moved on from Broja. He’s clearly West Ham’s target now and has been pushing for it himself. The price is beyond already the 20m you’re talking about and if Chelsea wanted us to up the price then we’d be mentioned in the briefings to the press but we’re not. Colwill we’re clearly in for although I have a hunch we’ll lose out to Palace on that one mainly because Salisu is probably in the way here and he’ll get into the Palace team quicker but hopefully I’m wrong. I would keep an ear out for any Harvey Vale news though. Little loan deal might be good for everyone there.
-
They have literally told you it won't be at almost every opportunity. Old chap.
-
KWP versatility is what stands him out against many other full backs and will be a part of what gets him a big move, so I think the idea that Ralph has unsettled him is laughable. He’s literally settled him into the PL, improved him, added strings to his bow and let him flourish. But yeah, KWP probably walks around cursing him for the few weeks he didn’t play him at the start of last season and then making him play left back to get him back in the team. Dear god. If/when he leaves it could just be that it’s part of the business mode and a good move for all concerned. You’re all going to have to get used to that at some stage btw. Better start trying now.
-
Really? Bigger club, bigger platform and therefore a bigger ceiling. He'll back himself to be good enough to make the step up in 3 years at Chelsea, if it doesn't happen he'll be just as relevant as Tino, Colwill, Lampety etc etc and back himself to be good enough to get a similar move that they all did. if he stayed here and got himself in the first team in say 2 years? Okay he's made a name for himself a little earlier but he's also needing Chelsea or whoever to pay out much bigger money for him and he's just one of many kids in the world. He's got his move to the big club early and can make his move on his own terms and from within. Presuming he and his advisors believe in his ability and they're not just cashing in now, then I see it as a pretty ideal move and relatively risk free (injuries etc aside).
