Aaron Martin not u21?

If I was being mean spirited I might point out that if Pochettino had been more tactically astute we might have either held our fluke lead or actually got any kind of point from the match. Adkins probably would have left Lambert on the bench so we'd have had the impact of him late on. Or this may all be based on utter drivel spouted about other matches this season, guess.
-
We need about 39 more than that.
-
If I was offered a point at Wigan now I'd report the individual concerned to the appropriate authorities. Zero tolerance for match fixing here.
-
And of course ALL this has to be viewed on the back of a reasonable performance at United when we still lost but people are still feeling pretty positive about it. If we lose to Wigan playing as well on Saturday without finishing our chances you'll see a very different response.
-
You mean just as spotting we'd played all but one of the top sides and that there was an easy run coming is bloody obvious? But plenty didn't. Fixtures are a little more mixed up second half of the season but we need something from Wigan and Newcastle or we'll be in the mix in March.
-
Thing is, we've signed 5-ish in the last 5 windows since Pardew was boss and we're claiming to be ambitious and have a new manager, it seems like a strange time to decide the squad doesn't need improving. There are 14ish teams already likely to be better than us this season and we don't have the depth if we lose a couple of key players at the same time.
-
We did lose, and having gone was pretty confident we weren't getting a point at any juncture last night. United were playing well within themselves. Has this been posted anywhere else?
-
Or even quash it. But yeah, one of my expectations was that Pochettino would come in to a fair few new signings, to placate the aggrieved if nothing else. Looks like Cortese wants his sacking to stand a fair comparison (Forren aside). Strange thing is now it'll just appear to be Adkins' team until the summer whatever happens.

There are a few things missing from those rules. If we have fewer than 25 over 21s we can still sign players who are unattached or out of contract. However, if we have 25 contracted professionals (even if they're out on loan) we have to name them. We don't have any slots left for more signings now anyway. I don't think that original 23 included Boruc, though I may be wrong.
-
I'd just like to take this opportunity to lament the loss of the pause from the original before the last line again.

But only because they already have 150 other songs using the same tune. "Spontaneity" FWIW, I always thought there was an ae in there, but apparently not. Doesn't look right to me.

The only reason we called him Fontay in the first place was because this was raised when we signed him, he was asked whether it was Font or Fontay and said it didn't matter to him. We've had this discussion on here before as well, and the commentator on FIFA has been calling him Font since League One. It's definitely not "Hose-A" though. Nearer "Joes-uh".

Depends on what we're trying to be good enough for, surely ? I'm expecting that tomorrow will pretty much prove we're at least 10 players short of winning the Champions' League, for instance. I'm also half expecting that we'll get stuffed as Pochettino finds out a load of stuff the rest of us already know the hard way : Man C away and Chelsea away good, Arsenal away bad. How anyone can say we've got a squad that doesn't need improving when (one example) we're we're stuck picking from EITHER a target man who doesn't get past people or a mobile striker who doesn't hold it up so well, beats me. Sign one who can win balls and pull it down AND can beat people.

Because he hasn't been anything resembling brilliant for the best part of 10 games maybe ? He's been much better than he was at first, but his performance against Everton was the first time I'd say he was anywhere near "very good", never mind "brilliant". He is clearly still settling in and improving, his passing seems to have settled down for one and I'm no longer stressing when he's on the ball at the back, which is a massive improvement. It takes ages for defenders to get fully comfortable and to read everything their teammates are going to do, and Yoshida has had a lot of changes around him in that time.

That link could have been for anything.

Do we need a Campaign for red and white stripes and black shorts

You only have to look at the completely useless away kit to know the only thing at the heart of this is making money. They could still do that with 3 kits we actually use. -
Hang on, have you just removed the only evidence on the web that the whole Chaplow thing is a wind up started here ? .
-
To be fair to MLG, he has no way of knowing whether the OP knew it was a wind up originally or not, and it's a pretty unfunny joke to begin with. Some of the "definitely happening" replies on here are vaguely amusing though...
-
And he did the same thing against Chelsea with similar results. We didn't win either, but we got a point which wasn't bad going, and we didn't do the same thing at Arsenal and got murdered.

As a pedant and grammar nazi, it is strange to find myself on this side of the fence, but I agree. "Train station" is perfectly acceptable English. However, incorrect apostrophes are an entirely different category. My English teacher used to say "pacific", FFS. This was in 1989, what chance did we have ?

There have been a few, to be honest - Chilavert of Paraguay used to take free-kicks too ! And it was one of the best pens I've ever seen, so they obviously knew what they were doing.

Hell of a penalty placement anyway...

Who is a Skate, by the way : Collins Mbesuma. Don't forget to boo him. "Interesting" penalty decision...
