Maybe, depends what he wants. He knows the clubs with whom he was on loan and he knows where he'll be pretty sure of being a starter. He'll also have a good idea of how near success Burnley are.

Honestly, even playing semi-pro and being a massive football fan I found playing and training regularly got pretty tedious pretty quickly. You can't possibly maintain that level of uber-motivation for long. It never consciously actually affected the amount of effort I'd put in in a match, I'd always give my best whether I was bored with football or not. But "my best" as a football player was not as impressive when I'd been playing a lot as that of a refreshed and eager player. It's just human nature.

Well, that'll certainly help the club's case... or do Huddersfield's research for them, anyway. I am amused by the comment which mentions that when the midfield got injured there were lots of calls to sign a replacement rather than for Gobern to play.

I think the "reasons will become obvious soon" thing was partially related to the aap3 sponsorship which was announced that week. Or possibly they were planning to run the "Stripes?" ad campaign a lot sooner, in which case "can't say anything" was down to the ad campaign being based around "maybe stripes". There is definitely no logical reason for launching home and away kits within 3 weeks of each other, which we will need to do as Barnsley away will (probably) be a colour clash. But at least the second kit will be in a different month, so people will have been paid again.

And I'm 26, and married.

No, it happens every time I have a shave.
-
It is, but at least that's a new template, unlike most of their kit.

Also this.

Two words : Lee Trundle. You're right on the penalties though. Can't say the Lambert extension has had any kind of impact on me at all - at the moment he's an unproven commodity in the Championship and he's on a downturn of form compared to 2009/10. When we added Lallana for another 4 years I was absolutely delirious. This ? A little "meh" for me.

Well logically they must have offered him at least the same money as Saints - we have to give an out of contract U-24 player a new contract offer that's equal to his last contract in order to get any compensation if he leaves (and we clearly made an offer, as the OS story had his status up in the air awaiting to see if he accepted). If we offered him the same money AND we were going to be in a higher division I'd be surprised if he was taking a pay cut to go elsewhere now when he could just as easily have signed a new Saints deal and then dropped down a League at the end of that. He's taken a gamble on being more appreciated somewhere else at a lower level and Huddersfield making the step up soon. Personally I don't think we'll miss him much, he never seemed to develop much, but Adkins clearly saw more than I did - and I wonder if the appearances ahead of the likes of Stephens at the end of the season were a bid to keep him ?

But the same argument holds true for a "former Prem side with significant monetary support who are clearly on their way back". If I was in Cork's position I'd be torn between Burnley, West Ham, Saints and Leicester, assuming they were all interested.

Fair enough though, that's the first time that's been posted. The one thing it does show is that Huddersfield definitely have a low-rent Umbro deal, those socks are about 4 years old and completely generic, England had them in 2008 for their away kit in red, from the kit before the kit before the new navy one ! They even have the old-style Umbro logo on them.

Best photo I ever took.

Agreed. Though if you REALLY want a conspiracy : http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/players/jack-cork/profile-48

Mind you, Oscar Gobern's still on there too... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10280~45372,00.html I think it's probably an old link to his one time profile, with automatically updated data from the content management system used by most of the FL clubs for their websites. But then again, I may be awesome.

Fancy a conspiracy ? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10280~37736,00.html

Well, if nothing else, today's actual football news has proved the only thing wrong with the site in the last few weeks is that there was nothing to discuss.

I completely agree. That chopped-up-with-mayo gash is no Scotch Egg. I have never noticed the gas, and I like Quorn as a chicken substitute in curries and with pasta and as a mince substitute in chillis. I'm not a vegetarian, either.

And I look 10 years younger.

38 and a half, somehow.

I wish I did, that would seriously increase the amount of traffic to Ridiculous Football.

Funnily enough having set up a blog recently and added a few banners, I am also advertising Man U VIP tickets. Hooray...? You can check out the wonderful google-led ads here : http://ridiculousfootball.blogspot.com/ and stay for Diana Ross' penalty and the ugly new England goalkeeper shirt. Oh, and don't forget to like and follow, and all that malarkey.

I'd be completely paranoid for every one of those 14 days that I was going to forget to do it. As it happens, I can't renew until probably Monday anyway due to the complex set of hoops I will have to jump through to get it paid for.

Funny you should say that. Lincoln City, usually purveyors of fine red and white stripes...
