As yet I haven't seen a template out there for it, will have a look around, failing that if I have time I'll have a go at making one.
-
Three problems with that : 1) It's made by Puma not Umbro 2) It's bespoke for Coventry (and based on a previous Coventry kit) so there would be no logic in making it for Saints 3) It's not striped. I do like it though, the white sponsor on the light blue kit is a nice touch.

Here's the "Brazil style" I think the OP was referring to, with new short and socks styles. Bit of weirdness in the colour matching on the dark blue, it's the same colour but the lighting effect makes it look a different blue on the shorts.
-
It helps people visualise the stuff that's being discussed, and I like doing kit design stuff. I agree with you to a point though, which is why I try to base all of my Photoshops on actual current Umbro designs rather than just throwing out gash like "what would it look like with purple spots" and stuff like that. I will accept that the yellow shirt, whilst nice and in the expected Saints colours, isn't likely to happen - but the shorts and socks are certainly possible, and the home shirt could well be close, depending on how accurate the OP's comments are. Which reminds me, I haven't done the yellow/blue in the current Umbro Wales/Swansea/Forest away style.

Last home kit (with added shorts and socks in the latest Umbro style but stripes as with 2010 West Brom template) Same shirt with randomly chosen stripe pattern (based loosely on the current away stripe thickness) Away kit using Canada template
-
I'd like to see it in yellow / blue. Fortunately I have Photoshop open...
-
The current Brazil kit (the green "loading bar" one) has some yellow patterned bits that look like a sort of waffle pattern that are very similar to the yellow parts on that navy Saints away on the cuffs and bottom of the reverse of the shirt. But I don't think it's that one that the OP was referring to, I think it was the 2009/10 one which looks a bit like the current Man U kit - and looks like a lot of current Umbro away shirts. The problem Saints have on any striped home kit is that often the sponsor won't be decided until after the shirt is chosen, so it'll look bolted on for the first season of a new sponsor at least. Examples Saints have had are the first Friends Provident kit (the reverse Ajax style with the horrible blue logo and white/blue patch), the appalling Dimplex panel on that ugly Pony tick kit (especially on the away shirt where it was white with red writing for no apparent reason on a light blue jersey) and the first Umbro kit (which wasn't even the first season of flybe, so there was really NO excuse for the stuck-on plasticky patch).
-
Home kit has remained at full price all season, and there are only kids' sizes and XL and upwards left. The away kit was reduced to 25% off in March and then to 50% off in April.
-
Fair enough then, it's obviously a bluey-tinted day or something...
-
I know, I spent about 3 days sticking together photoshops - it's at the start of this thread !

There are 24 teams in the Championship.

Personally I took up March Madness at every possible opportunity - having the ability to pay in instalments is more important than whether it's paid before the season or not.

I have to say that's a somewhat naive failure to appreciate the financial situation for a lot of people at the moment - success or not, there are only so many times you can extend the overdraft or add a bit to the loan. If the club goes with "pay us £450+ up front within a month or forget it" this season, plenty of people are going to think they just can't justify the cost, and a lot of them will be annoyed enough about it not to pay on a match-by-match basis. Even though there's every reason to think the club's going to do the same thing again, and there's been a year to TRY and save up...
-
Yeah, because THAT'S not all the wrong way around...

Just to keep us up to speed with what's been released for 2011/12 by Umbro so far: 1) Huddersfield 3 broad stripes with collar (based on 2010 teamwear Santos style - see above) - this might not count towards Umbro's total as it's teamwear, but it's on the Umbro Blog as a tailored by shirt... 2) Hearts away round neck with pinstripes added (basically Saints away 2010 but with pinstripes, though the collar looks different too) 3) NEW Sunderland stripes with chevron shoulders on the back 4) NEW Ireland / Bilbao away / Livingston (see previous post) 5) NEW Double chevron "V" (Canada, N. Ireland away) 6) NEW New York Cosmos 7) NEW Rangers shirt with shoulder flashes : 8 ) Sweden away (Saints current home sash shirt with V-neck) That's 5 NEW templates and Umbro released around 6 new ones last season, so I'd be surprised if they come up with anything particularly unlike one of these for us. Going back to the OP, he (eventually) said our striped shirt had a NY Cosmos collar on it (so that's template 6 but with stripes) and the away kit was yellow and blue "like Brazil", which still says the 2010/11 Forest away / Wales H / Swansea A v-neck with a single line down the sleeve to me - but that would mean more than the usual number of Umbro templates in European circulation.
-
Not least because that template wasn't even in use LAST season by Umbro, it was a 2008/9 release only. They do have the "stripe across front and shoulders" Republic of Ireland / Athletic Bilbao away shirt though... and the same design, different execution for the Livingston shirts :
-
Perhaps someone could. There's more than one template, and I think that's navy and, er, slightly different navy (ultramarine?) rather than grey.
-
Ah, well I meant the design generally, so both home and away, because they were basically the same. For some reason the shorts were the same colour as the shirt on the away kit (and the socks were the reverse). Also the last time we had black home socks before this season, he says, boringly.
-
Double post. Bleugh.
-
By far the worst Saints kit ever (also the first one I bought shirt/shorts/socks home and away), and more an ugly Pony tick with a load of half stripes. On the bright side, that design is now banned by FA / Prem and FL advertising regulations. Even so we still got off lightly compared to some even more hideous efforts of the 1994 era. There's a pink / yellow / green Umbro keeper's shirt once worn by Neville Southall and based on a Jorge Campos design that I still have burned into my retina.

Up yours, stripey sash face.

Actually it was "Champions... can you keep up". I'm keeping my powder dry and hoping for another late season visit to Brighton next season, where we can taunt from significantly above with "nanananananananana are you keeping up?" or some more witty retort. That bloody tune's been stuck in my head for weeks now, and we WON. Nice to see that Simster thinks selling 18,000 STs will fund good enough players to keep them up, it'll probably get sunk straight into just trying to keep the players they have on new deals.
-
I went on the pitch (first time since Sheff U, I like my on-pitch celebrations to be worthwhile) and then wandered around anti-climactically not knowing what to do. I could have easily stayed in the stands and still enjoyed the post-match celebrations and a lap of honour which the pitch invasion ruined the chances of happening. So I did that the following day at the All-Star game instead, which is almost certainly why they had it.

I'm sure Nigel would have said "could have...".

I am aware of the crapness of the original comment. I don't usually use "bleugh" in responses either...
