  1. There's one stood next to him.
  2. I thought he was pants when he first signed, hoofamatic and losing headers, plus that stupid never-a-pen at Tranmere... but by the end of the season he'd improved positionally, started closing down earlier and was growing in distribution skills alongside Fonte. Last night he'd gone back to hoofamatic, apart from one lovely square ball to Fonte on the volley. I think he's got an upside, and he didn't have too many problems defensively last night.
  3. Oooooh paradox. Get out of that without moving, stevegrant (if that IS your real name?).
  4. Sarcasm aside, there was no queue in the Northam concourse at half-time compared to Saturday, but then the AFCB lot had Blocks 43 and 42 - so clearly the solution is to reduce the number of fans they have to serve - maybe that's CORTESE'S CLUMPY PLAN ?
  5. I like this thread, it has amused me. If we can all stick to euphemisms for "Away Team wearing black training kit", "Wotsit" and "mouthy wannabe Guv'nor ex-Franchise manager" this will all be a lot more entertaining.
  6. I had a Beef Madras Pasty last night. It wasn't as good as the Balti Pie. Not much beef, it wasn't particularly spicy - never mind Madras, but it was definitely pasty shaped. 1/3 ain't bad. It was definitely food, and not offensive enough to put me off buying it ever again. FWIW I have been visiting the loo quite a lot today.
  7. Mods, sticky ! Bournemouth Echo's response is to use pics from the 1987 match and slag Cortese a bit as well : http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/8323869.Comment__Saints_chairman_can_t_see_the_big_picture/ When it comes down to it, a load of us think he's in the wrong, and everything other than the Saints OS which is media-based is going to tell us he's wrong at every opportunity as well. And if I'm he's in the right (I'm wholly unconvinced), if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes regarded as fact. Anyone who doesn't believe that might like to cast their mind back to when we beat Man U 6-3 and they changed kit at half time... which gets an airing from a commentator pretty much every time Saints are mentioned from a recent historical perspective, and got mentioned when we played them in the FA Cup in 2009, but never actually happened. Presumably this match report is adopting the same approach, as it's about 90% cobblers : http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/8323930.Third_tier_parity_s_a_reality_as_Cherries_bridge_gap/
  8. What, Lee Holmes has joined the argument ?
  9. I'd be inclined to think that libelling an entire city's population on the front of the paper based on half-truths and outright lies in the wake of a national tragedy is a LITTLE bit more of a motivator than a tedious dispute about who pays for photographs of a team which rarely even makes their pages. But let's not have any perspective, BURN THE WITCH ! Or whatever.
  10. That's assuming anyone was buying it in the first place. I don't think I've bought a copy ever anyway, and I won't be boycotting it even in principle for showing up our ass-hatted CORTESE'S CLUMPY BOOTSing.
  11. Yes, I thought that was the 3200 ? EDIT : But it isn't, cos I just checked... Ok, my question now then, is if Man U had 4500 (warning, large Dan Kerins pic here : http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3996089.Man_Utd_game_sold_out/ ) how come Bournemouth are only claiming "around 4000" ? Do we have the wider segregation barriers planned for Block 41 ? For Man U and Skates it was only the thin barrier.
  12. Were they saying Boo or Boo-utterfield ? (with apologies to The Simpsons writers).
  13. Was that some kind of defence of Rooney criticising people who'd travelled halfway around the World to see England v Algeria, or are we both agreed that in that case the boo-ers were more than justified and Rooney was just mouthing off out of frustration ?
  14. Which continues to be a bit weird as their allocation isn't going to be more than 3200. There's no segregation towards the middle of Itchen Block 1/2 so they can only be in the conventional away area, and I'm pretty sure Saints fans are in Block 41 too.
  15. Nope, I'm actually going and I couldn't care less what happens as long as no-one gets injured. Quicker we're out of the cups this season the better, pick half the youth team and fringe players and give them some experience. Though here's my preferred team for tonight : Bart (needs the practise), Pulis, Pulis, Pulis, Pulis; Pulis, Pulis, Pulis, Pulis; Pulis, Pulis. Have we got more fans going than them yet ?
  16. CORTESE'S CLUMPY BOOTS strike again...
  17. No, no he wasn't.
  18. He's a left footed player playing on the right, why on earth would he be trying to get to the byeline anyway ? He went pass Molyneux endless times inside, had a couple of close shots, DID get to the line once or twice when forced that way (and won us a couple of corners) and other times kept possession and moved the ball well across to Dickson and Harding, who got crosses in from that side from the switching of play and keeping of possession in the final third. And in the Northam.
  19. Which you can only do on PS3, not the Xbox 360 because you can't import parts of the option file, only the whole thing. As I already said.
  20. It worries me that you think Puncheon was either "mincing around" or "played off the park" by the amazingly crap and beaten every time Molyneux. Puncheon had a great first half and was one of our best players.
  21. Actually it was after 57 minutes. I didn't do it myself because I thought we were the better side for much of the match and did enough to win, but I have no problem with a few of the more critical people in the crowd making sure the team knows that result wasn't good enough.
  22. 5-0, it was Walsall that had the cheek to go 1-0 up that week. Anyway, I'm going to bed, I've just realised I'm on the same side as you in a Michail Antonio argument .
  23. I don't have to worry about it personally, but there are at least 23 other wide midfielders in the same division as his parent club for us to have a look at for starters.
  24. Ouchy, sticky mods.
  25. And some terrible finishing at MK when he got into the box... and... just... didn't... DOH. and on various other occasions. I think he did ok for us last season, very well in some games and terribly in others. The interest is only there because he's familiar. If he was a free, fine, might even be worth a punt at up to maybe £250k, but paying above that there is a vast wealth of non top-level players who are more reliable and have a proven track record for that kind of money (or the equivalent in wages).
