  1. Good to see, he's started the season pretty well : http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2128220,00.html Maybe it's having the weight of half his name removed from his back as per Cortese's wishes, as exclusively revealed by me on here a month or two ago!
  2. That is almost certainly due to some comically rubbish misidentification of Liptak as Pekhart and so on.
  3. Oh, and before I forget, I'd also like to make it very clear that Calum Davenport was fcking sht BEFORE he got his legs stabbed up by his brother-in-law, in case anyone starts thinking he only got that bad "due to his injuries". Not sure why this Zoltan "terrible talentless tall central defender in name only for Saints" Liptak thread made me think of that.
  4. I was sitting there watching it on the box whilst posting on this thread actually. All I've said is that he was absolutely terrible for us, and used some examples of rankings to point out that you don't have to be any good relatively speaking to get one match for a struggling nation (though Lloyd James STILL hasn't got a full Welsh cap, bizarrely). If he was anything resembling competent for Hungary then he's improved about 5000%.
  5. Erm, I'm starting to think you don't really understand this football thing. He's playing for HUNGARY. They are 63rd ranked in the World, immediately below the powerhouses of Benin. They were good in the 1950s, and the rest of the world has overtaken them since. Plus it was his debut, in a friendly match, and he was substituted after about 60 minutes. None of these things say "great player" or even "great performance" to me. Plus, I've seen him try to play football at St Mary's a few times with my own eyes, and he was crap. Affected play more than Pulis to be fair though. As a comparison, Northern Ireland are 61st in the world and they fielded Ryan McGivern in their defence, who doesn't even have a squad number at Man City (who have about 50 players with numbers at the moment). I wonder if either would get in the current Saints side ?
  6. You'll note that the two games in which we played him for more than 2 minutes we lost.
  7. I thought Pekhart had some potential in his first couple of games, then he got shunted out wide to accommodate McGoldrick (FFS) and he tangibly stopped giving a toss.
  8. Hah, no, I think YOU'RE thinking of someone else. He was exactly the talentless BUT TALL, SO VERY TALL donkey everyone else has said he is. He was utter utter pants. Nice to see my recall of him as being a lanky bloke who was sent on to defend leads by heading the ball away is accurate though - as it was a terrible season for us I was shocked we'd won so many games. And Gasmi is 500% a better football, I actually saw him show skill on the ball and beat people. The Ted Bates Statue was more mobile and probably a better header of the ball than Liptak at Saints, for that matter.
  9. Which is exactly what he said when he bailed on Man City after a few days/weeks years ago - and after that he became a very successful Reading manager...
  10. A bit of MALI Group business stuff in German, more than there is in English, but not much, as you say.
  11. There's a lot more about Katharina Liebherr if you can read German... The ever reliable Wikipedia insists "heart attack [citation needed]" so someone's having a guess...
  12. More to the point, who decided "Catherine" when the website clearly states "Katharina", which assists with Googling somewhat...
  13. Ok, found it : mentions "the legacy of her father"... first time I've ever seen kids mentioned anywhere. http://www.mali-group.com/en/home/
  14. It's definitely not his daughter anyway, he hasn't got any kids.
  15. I think we should replace it with a plain black banner for the next week or two as well.
  16. Quite surprised by this actually.
  17. Only if they sold it. Personally I'd be completely in favour of changing the sash to black for the whole season AND flogging the thing in the club shop if at least half the profits went to a Liebherr charity.
  18. Just robbed this off Gecko and tweaked it a bit : bit of a loss of quality on save unfortunately...
  19. I really like the "black sash" idea. It's simple and classy, goes with the rest of the kit and shouldn't be too difficult to put together, even at that kind of notice. They can have mine back if they're short of material or whatever the excuse was. Or we could just play in the black away kit at home, with the black socks from the home kit. It's a hell of a sacrifice to increase away kit sales though.
  20. Well, you've gone from sash-hating numpty to full blown idiot here. I assume you haven't supported the club since July 2009 seeing as it wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the bloke you're so keen to dismiss the influence of ?
  21. I was in the Northam, bored off my tits to be honest. Poxy game against a nothing team, why bother ?
  22. I remember him well, we used him as a 3rd centre back when trying to hang on to results. He wore #41, and was the worst footballer I've ever seen, and I include Calum Davenport in that. Barely able to stand up when he ran with the ball on the few occasions he got it, won some headers, not many considering his height. But anyway, not really the time...
  23. He's crap and once fell over for 35 yards whilst trying to control the ball. Very tall though.
  24. You won't get any arguments on that front, but he also passes it nicely on the deck and brings it upfield sometimes. Seaborne's culture last night was in between his toes, except for the one knee-height sidefoot volley across to Fonte.
  25. This is true, but he CAN bring it out and play it, and has done. But the hoof that results from Fonte's Leaping Clearance ™ is one of the things I most hate about the current side.
