  1. The lack of available replacement options is one of the things keeping Pardew in a job with WBA, right now... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/02/25/alan-pardew-faces-crunch-match-against-watford-could-bring-west/ Many of the replacements mentioned in this article are familiar. Silva is not interested, apparently and Hughes and Bilic are not under consideration.
  2. He deserves credit for the subs working out to produce an equalizer, but not for the dire performance that preceded it. He’s won two games in the last 19 PL matches, with both wins coming against proverbial crisis clubs. It beggars belief that he’s still in charge.
  3. You’d hope that Les saw that performance, particularly in the first half and finally realized that Pellegrino’s not good enough at this level. He won’t though. Pellegrino will be in charge for the Stoke game. The Stoke supporters can thank Les later.
  4. Shaquiri will be a problem. He’s got a bit of a goal-scoring streak going.
  5. Gabbiadini’s goal saved Pellegrino’s bacon today. Unfortunately I just can’t see us surviving relegation if Pellegrino remains in charge.
  6. In Pellegrino’s defence, his substitutions worked and produced an equalizer. He’s been criticized (deservedly) for being out-manoeuvred by other managers in the second half. It seems unfair to single anyone out for playing poorly today because pretty much everyone was ****, until a few players pulled their thumbs out of their arses after the Burnley goal and then subs like Sims came on to make all the difference. Sims probably deserves to start but I don’t think that Pellegrino’s brave enough to start such an inexperienced player. Stil, that was a horrible performance. The team did not know what do do with Burnley’s aggressive pressing game. The team never seems to know what to do when the opposing team plays like Burnley did today.
  7. It’ll never happen because Pellegrino’s not very good at managing teams, but I’d like to see how Carrillo and Gabbiadini do in a two up front formation. Carrillo did well to set up Gabbiadini today.
  8. FT 1-1 Did Gabbiadini just save Pellegrino’s job?
  9. Redmond to Sims, nice far post delivery from Sims to Carrillo who plays the ball to Gabbiadini, who looks to have practiced a little bit of the dark arts to get to the ball ahead of the Burnley defender and smash it in from close range. Dyche is apparently rather grumpy that the referee let the goal stand.
  10. I missed that. They’re both at the game?
  11. We have two PL wins in 19 games, according to the commentators. Any other team would have sacked him months ago.
  12. I think that Les Reed is too obstinate to it, even when it seems like the obvious thing to do.
  13. Gabbiadini coming on for Tadic.
  14. It’s probably why Sims looks so decent coming on - Pellegrino has not yet had the opportunity to coach his good habits out of him.
  15. They don’t have a win in 10 games. Yet.
  16. Stephens did well to,clear that free kick with his head. On another note far too many of our passes found Burnley players in that half.
  17. He won a decent defensive header a while ago.
  18. Decent effort there with Redmond doing well to play Tadic in.
  19. Lucky that Lennon’s shot was right at the keeper there.
  20. I’m pleased that he’s only gone for two DMs in Lemina and Romeu, against a side that sat back against us last time. I’d prefer to see a Hoj / Lemina pairing though, and it seems a little harsh on Hoj to see him on the bench. Redmond must have shown a significant improvement in form and attitude in training to warrant his selection. I hope Pellegrino knows what he’s doing there. I understand Boufal not starting if he’s been nursing an injury and is not fully fit.
  21. I think that Pellegrino broke him.
