  1. hope this is not the start of threads where we cluch at straws because if i was manager of any side playing saints in the coming weeks i would put 10 behind the ball, soak up our limited presuure and hit us on the break and 3 points could be yours
  2. Very poor, no real threat other than Surman. Yes he missed a couple of easy chances but until he breaks from midfield are attacks are sterile , if only Lallana would do the same thing on the right, the one time he ran at them directly he split them open , missed. After that display i fear that any team who sets out not to lose and get 10 behind the ball will hold us to a draw at best for us
  3. Sun shine in locks heath. have re discovered a bit of hope now go out and get job done
  4. share the blame , hence 19 and co saying its all the fans fault.i mean if some fan had not gone to ecuador we would never have wasted 8m (i think that was fee plus wages) on delgado
  5. do i know you ?
  6. in 1965 at 11 they all looked like friar tuck, monks to us common people
  7. i wonder if he knows how easy it is to mis-use his name , heard his nickname was DO
  8. which end
  9. riverside park
  10. and Wotte on the other
  11. as 11 year olds we used to sneak into the playing fields and use their goals until a monk would chase us off, the lane was also a favourite spot for courting couples as we got older
  12. think we called it Monks Path
  13. Chicken or Egg , though Frank , the gates have reduced because of the poor way we chose since 2003 to spend the money we had, which led to progressively weaker teams which led to smaller gates.
  14. pockets have been stiched up for 12 years for withdrawals only cash in allowed
  15. after the conkers from the trees in their grounds ?
  16. aparently rupert has worked a financial miracle, thing is few home wins earlier in the season 4 thousand on gate , £100,000 extra banked per home game, 23 home games another £2.3m in bank
  17. sums it up for me what ever others say money was not the issue it was always , even back in 2003, how we spent what we had
  18. or new quote. Pick up of the mat when i get home from work this weeks Advertiser. Picture of Wotte and Lowe on back. Wotte basically defending Rupert but he then says "i would never stop going to a club because they have a chairman or a chief executive that i do not like" fair comment but he then adds " then, for me, you are not really truly a dedicated supporter of the clubbecause if you are a real fan its for worse and for better , it is good times and bad times" Whether it is true or not , it does not seem like a good time to be saying it. I hope it is not a new article but if it is who the hell is advising this guy.
  19. i suppose RUPERT became anti older players when he was running his retirement business, no wonder he had to get into SFC IN 97
  20. irony i presume
  21. some one will tell you WE HAD NO OPTIONS
  22. i would call our current position Sad not ironic. the last 5 years has seen the HOPE squeezed out of Southampton Football Club to be replaced by a monster called Southampton Leisure Holdings. The sad thing is there are hundreds of businesses within a 20 mile radius of SMS with bigger turnovers than SLH which make profits and provide products/services that their customers want. how come those in charge of SLH over the last 5/6 years have all made such a pigs ear of it.
  23. Agreed but it would be nice for the others to lose once when we win
  24. that was the year we were relegated. at least we had hope then
  25. another failure then
