  1. Good question. Absolutely no harm in us setting `high' prices for players. Much better seeing we want £50m and sell for £40m than reading we want £40m and then end up with £30m. In the end the market price will be what someone is willing to pay. When sales happen will depend on when bids and negotiations start. Who knows what stage these are currently at.
  2. She's no Gabrielle Benson. Best of luck to her though.
  3. £30m seems much more realistic. Going by The Athletic article, Saints get £18m on a £30m sale.
  4. Brighton are not paying the reported requested £50m for Livramento.
  5. the agency also manage Ryan Manning, Leander Dendoncker, Luke Thomas, Ryan Fraser, Choudhury, Ross Barkley, Zian Flemming, Ben Pearson, Phil Jones, Peacock-Farrell, Jack Cork, Jack Colback...
  6. Sure. Lavia is the real gem. I wouldn't have any qualms about selling both CMs if the price offered is good. Every player has a price. Reinvested wisely, say Downes and Cook, our midfield could look pretty decent still at this level.
  7. Sure, and he may not have a sizeable cut in wages based on relegation, so they may have been desperate to get him off their wage bill.
  8. If West Ham pay what we want for JWP, then we will also gain £30m-40m out of the `trade'.
  9. Just seen that Vinegre is linked to Hull. Would be a good signing for them. I think City will be decent this year.
  10. He wouldn't be a development prospect for us, he'd be a `first choice good enough to get us promoted' player.
  11. we paid €8m, all be it he was in his last year of his contract, but seeing as it hasn't worked out, wanting €10m seems a bit cheeky.
  12. off to PSG according to several papers.
  13. "Too many moving parts" is what they (agents etc.) say about that kind of deal. You never know though.
  14. Likewise. Wanted us to sign him last summer, but I just find it hard to believe they will not give him a second season to try and step up. He finished the season pretty well and most West Ham fans seem to rate him. I guess Moyes is the only one that matters. Another option for us might be Lewis Cook. I think he's an underrated holding midfielder. He lost his place in the Bournemouth side towards the back end of last season after an injury. Not sure they would allow him to leave, as he played quite a lot of games, but he'd be ideal alongside Downes should we lose our CM pairing. If we miss out on Manning, I still think Vinegre would be ideal for us at left back and Omar Richards from Forrest might be an option having missed all of last season due to injury. All of these feel a bit of a stretch if I am honest. One that wouldn't be a stretch is Aaron Collins. He impressed me greatly when I saw him against the Skates. Lovely left foot, some nice skills on the ball and he can finish too.
  15. Can't really look to replace Perraud if he hasn't left. There is also Small to add to Larios and Moussa, so not exactly short on bodies.
  16. Yeah, in the 20/21 season he was on fire, scoring 12 Prem goals. He looked a terrific player and the sky was the limit. The last two seasons though he has been poor, missing simple chances as we witnessed at SMS. £8m isn't a lot. Puts into perspective Che's value.
  17. Abu in, Orsic out.
  18. nothing said yet. It's a little early for Martin to commit to a keeper. McCarthy may move, leaving the path completely clear for Baz, but who is buying? Who knows, maybe someone comes in for Baz.
  19. his exploits for us didn't go unnoticed then. Blast.
  20. We didn't sign any from them in January after Shields had fucked off.
  21. Hopefully with no relegation wage reduction clause. Final year of his contract though.
  22. We have already gambled. We did that in January. We brought in lots of players and the squad is now huge. From a numbers point of view alone, there is no need to bring in anyone. I don't feel SR should be gambling again and bringing in yet more players, at more cost and adding to the already massive wage bill until players depart. This massive hole in CM (that we all expect) simply doesn't exist yet. When it does we can look to fill it. We will have targets in mind. I suspect there are very few Championship teams able to acquire Flynn from West Ham for example. Until West Ham fill their own CM hole, he won't be going anywhere anyway. In an ideal world we have our squad for 23/24 almost done and dusted, but we were relegated and now we are paying the price. For anyone that is impatient, simply imagine that we signed Bree, Alcaraz and Sulemana today, not in January. I think most would be pretty happy with the summer so far.
  23. Likewise. I'm hoping he didn't do enough to attract a suitor and we subsequently benefit, assuming he is willing to fight for us in the Championship. I think you may be right. I was critical of him in his early showings. He did and achieved very little. The Leeds game was a case in point. Not entirely his fault, as he hardly touched the ball, but we badly needed a spark from somewhere in that game and we got nothing. He has scary pace and that alone means he is going to be a threat at any level. If we can get regular end product, then we have a chance in all games.
  24. Realistically, are we going to turn down £50m for Lavia on the last day of the window?
